On October 24, Dana White, the CEO of UFC, put out news that shocked fans all over the world. Dana White came out and revealed that the main event of UFC 295. Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic is not going to happen anymore. Due to Jon Jones getting injured while training on October 23, he will not be able to take part in the fight at UFC 295. Moreover, he is set to undergo surgery and will be out for eight months.
But Dana did have some good news to bring to the fans as well. He announced that the fight would be replaced in total by the co-main event between Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall for the interim heavyweight title. The no. 2 ranked heavyweight will go against the no. 4 ranked heavyweight in the UFC, respectively. Both fighters have had an incredible run in the UFC till now.

The British fighter Tom Aspinall broke his silence after agreeing to fight Sergei Pavlovich on extremely short notice. Speaking about his upcoming fight, Aspinall said, “The rumors are in fact true. I’m fighting Sergei Pavlovich in two weeks’ time. I’m fighting the most dangerous guy in the UFC on two weeks’ notice, but I’m willing to put it all on the line. This is my absolute dream and I’m f***** doing a Bisping”.
Sergei Pavlovich holds the record of 18-1-0 in his UFC career. Moreover, he has won the last six of his fights by way of KO or TKO. This proves that Aspinall is not wrong in saying that Pavlovich is the most dangerous guy in the UFC. It does disregard Jon Jones, who is considered to be the most dangerous guy in the UFC by Dana White and many others. Aspinall faces a tough task ahead of him on November 11.
Tom Aspinall himself has a record of 13-3-0 in his UFC career. The fact that he has never gone to the third round of a fight in his UFC career speaks for itself. The matchup promises to be a thrilling one, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
Will Tom Aspinall lose like Alexander Volkanovski after a short-notice fight at UFC 295?
Recently, Alexander Volkanovski was put up against Islam Makhachev in the UFC 294 event on October 21. This happened because Charles Oliveira had an injury on his eye two weeks prior to the fight. Because of this, Volk was set to fight against Islam. It was an easy fight for Islam, who won by KO in the first round. After the fight, Volk revealed that he had come off the couch to take the fight.
This is definitely not the case for Tom Aspinall, as he said that he has been training and is in very good shape for his upcoming fight. Even though it is on extremely short notice, just two weeks before the event. Aspinall said that he is coming to win, and there will be no excuses. It will be interesting to see if Aspinall can avoid defeat and win, unlike Alexander Volkanovski.
