Khabib Nurmagomedov is an extremely well-respected figure in not just the MMA world, but the sporting world as a whole. Although Khabib’s initial fame was because of his win over Conor McGregor in 2019, The Eagle went on to build a massive fanbase for himself. As a result, he has also had several business opportunities on his way, and Nurmagomedov has been associated with several brands such as “Gameplan.”
Gameplan is a metaverse game that Nurmagomedov has promoted for quite some time now. He endorsed Gameplan in February of this year as well and announced that fans can expect something massive. So the wait is finally over as the former UFC lightweight champion shared the first look of the Metaverse game. The trailer had two animated Khabibs go up against each other. But just when they are about to fight, a portal pulls one of them away.
Wow, I’m about to fight and guess who’s facing me? A younger version of myself! He’s all fired up, just like I used to be. But then, out of nowhere, something weird happens. Wondering where this is leading me? Stick around to see what is next @meta_gameplan pic.twitter.com/e44NCqPfn5

Nurmagomedov added, “Wow, I’m about to fight and guess who’s facing me? A younger version of myself! He’s all fired up, just like I used to be. But then, out of nowhere, something weird happens. Wondering where this is leading me? Stick around to see what is next.”
Although his fans are extremely excited to follow the game’s journey, many have complained about the game. Nurmagomedov, who decided to stay away from all things MMA, has decided to put his efforts into making a video game instead and that has not gone down well with the fans. While some have complained about the graphics, others accused him of being a “sell out.”
Here are some fan reactions on the matter
Is Khabib a bigger sell out then Conor at this point? At least we expect Conor to sell booze and watches, and what not but Khabib goes from retiring because of his “mom” to selling everything under the sun. What’s next? Fitroo tampons?

I hate how this is not Khabib tweeting and the tweet is so annoying

The accusation of being a “sell out” is certainly ironic as Nurmagomedov has made the same allegation against Conor McGregor. The Notorious has several business ventures, the most popular of them being his whiskey brand, “Proper 12.” McGregor later sold the majority share and bagged $600 million! Now it looks like Nurmagomedov is trying to follow the same path by setting up other business ventures like the above-mentioned “Gameplan.”
Khabib Nurmagomedov may have suffered several financial setbacks
Ever since announcing his retirement in October 2020, fans were eager to know what Nurmagomedov’s next plans were. After his retirement, Khabib made the switch to become a promoter himself. He acquired an MMA promotion with the investment of a mere $1 million and named it “EAGLE FC.”
While the company made a huge amount of noise at first by signing fighters like Kevin Lee and Diego Sanchez, they have seemingly gone out of business.

Another of his big businesses was “M-eat by Khabib.” It was a chain restaurant that sold fast food and had 7 outlets around Russia. However, a report from the YouTube channel TheBestofMMA revealed that several of the outlets were later closed. According to the official website, the restaurant is allowing potential partners to invest in the venture and their Instagram account has been inactive for a while.

So all the factors combined, it seems like Khabib Nurmagomedov may be going through tough times financially. However, there are no official reports that confirm whether the $200 million rich UFC legend is in financial trouble or not. But what are your thoughts on the matter?
