WWE has been at its peak of popularity ever since Dwayne Johnson made a surprise appearance on SmackDown. His return brought massive success for the promotion, but it seems that nostalgia is going to get even higher, as Randy Orton is reportedly also nearing his return.
The Viper hasn’t been involved in action for well over a year, but it seems that fans’ wait is finally going to end soon. As reported by Fightful, the 14-time World Champion has recently been spotted at the Triple H-led promotion’s Performance Center in Orlando, and it seems that he’s nearing an in-ring return.

It’s been speculated that Orton may have started training to make his long-awaited comeback to the ring, and fans are elated by this possibility. As a pro wrestling fan shared a video of Randy walking outside the PC with a suitcase, the audience started expressing their excitement.
Sharing how The Legend Killer’s return is going to be a memorable one, someone from the audience wrote, “The return is going to hit HARDD.” “Even if he ends up not coming back for a while, this is a HUGE step in recovery for him,” a WWE fan said, while telling that this is a great development in his recovery. It’s important to note that the veteran has been out of action since May 2022, due to a back injury. As Randy has now gone past the recovery after a successful surgery, it seems that a return to the ring is around the corner. It’ll be interesting to see when the legend will make his long-awaited WWE appearance.
Randy Orton may attack a former friend upon his WWE return
While the exact timeline of Randy’s in-ring comeback isn’t yet known, a lot of people have been wondering if he’ll attack a former friend upon his WWE return. The Viper could betray his former partner, Matt Riddle, and thus give rise to a high-profile feud between the former Tag Champions.
As everyone knows, Orton suffered his back injury during a SmackDown match, where he and Riddle lost the Tag Team Championships to The Usos. The injury took the veteran out of action, and The Original Bro again started working as a singles performer. This could be enough of a reason for Randy to turn his back on Matt.
Additionally, Riddle has recently been involved in a tag team with Drew McIntyre, and this could feel like a betrayal to The Legend Killer. Therefore, the 14-time WWE Champion could attack Matt upon his WWE return to take revenge on his former friend. It remains to be seen whether this can become a reality or if it’ll just end up as speculation.
