- The Golden State Warriors have won 4 NBA championships over the last decade.
- Raymond Felton reveals how the Warriors changed the position of the NBA center forever.
A former NBA star had glowing praise for the Golden State Warriors when asked if the team should be considered as the greatest basketball dynasty in the history of the league. As almost all fans are aware, the Warriors won 4 NBA titles over the last decade while primarily being led by Steph Curry and his elite play.
Raymond Felton is a former NBA star who spent 14 seasons in the league. He is best known for his time with the Charlotte Hornets. When questioned about the success that the Warriors have seen and their claim as the greatest dynasty of all time, Felton shared his thoughts on the subject.
Raymond Felton claims that the Warriors changed the center position across the NBA
Although the Warriors are known for having several admirable traits that aided in their multiple title runs over the years, there is no denying that their shooting abilities changed the very style of the league. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson’s high-volume long-distance shooting forced teams to do the same. Felton revealed that even typical NBA centers decided to incorporate the three-pointer into their style
“They changed how the whole league wanted to play offense. They basically changed the game of basketball. When I first came in there were legit 5s. When you gotta throw the ball in the post and this dude is tryna get buckets like Dwight Howard and them Shaq and them…”

Felton continued, “But if you fast forward a couple of years later and the stuff they was doing shooting the 3s and Now they got big men shooting threes. The whole game changes. Now nobody wants to post up bigs all they wanna do is shoot 3s…So you gotta put them in as a dynasty cuz they changed the game.”
This is certainly an effect that none saw coming. Having 7-foot-tall NBA centers stand outside the paint and attempt to shoot the 3-pointer speaks to the effect that the Warriors dynasty had on the league. Now, fans are left wondering if the success of the team is a thing of the past.
Is the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty truly over?
Given their record and struggles this season, it would be fair to claim that the Warriors have a small chance of winning an NBA championship this season. However, NBA experts already claimed that the dynasty had come to an end after the 2019 NBA Finals. The Golden State Warriors managed to prove all the doubters wrong by winning another title in the 2022 Finals.
