Dwayne Johnson retweeted the tweet and wrote, “I’ll raise a glass to breaking records together.” Just like all the fans, he too couldn’t fail to acknowledge the crowd reaction he received for his return. The Rock’s presence with Pat McAfee has also opened the gates for him to walk out to the WrestleMania 40 stage that will take place almost six months from now.
The Rock helped SmackDown scale new heights
2023 saw Friday Night SmackDown take up a very promising place in the hearts of WWE fans with The Bloodline storyline. The team had been very clever with their bookings for Friday Night SmackDown. After The Bloodline ran stale, the company’s creative team brought out The Rock to increase the fan base for the blue brand. However, the impact of The Brahma Bull was already expected by everyone.

Wrestle Ops took to X to announce a record that SmackDown has created in the last year. The blue brand has had an average of 2,500,000 viewers in 2023 on six different occasions. 2018 last set the record for this particular feat. With three months still left at hand, the blue brand is on its way to go down in history.
All these recent records justify why Vince McMahon has submitted to merging his company with the UFC. While many would still criticize the Endeavor deal, the recent return of The Rock is the perfect answer to those questions. Much still lies unveiled and it is just the beginning of the WWE and UFC merging into one single company.
