NBA fans aren’t taking very kindly to Dillon Brooks and his recent behavior. As most of us should certainly be aware by now, Brooks is one of the players on the Memphis Grizzlies and earned a reputation for himself as a dirty player who needlessly engages in trash talk.
In fact, Dillon was even confident enough to take shots at LeBron James and the Lakers prior to their first-round matchup. However, he and his team could not back it up and they ended up getting eliminated in 6 games. Furthermore, Brooks didn’t even engage with the media and answer questions toward the end of this series.
Since that borderlines on unprofessionalism and is even punishable, Dillon is now being heavily scrutinized by fans across the world. Let us take a closer look at what they are saying.
Is Dillon Brooks leaving the Memphis Grizzlies?
Things certainly don’t seem to be going well for Brooks. Not only was his team unable to remain competitive throughout this series or win a game on the road, but he also played quite badly and didn’t really do anything to help his team win against the Lakers.

Moreover, his trash-talk seemed to reduce their chances of winning after LeBron used it as motivation and made several clutch buckets over him. That was something that he clearly didn’t expect and it was enough for Brooks to deny making himself available to the media. As a result of his behavior, Dillon was fined $25,000 by the league.

However, fans don’t think this is enough punishment and that he should be suspended, “Suspend him too, that’s if he’s still in the league next year.” Many fans also hinted at the fact that his time with the Grizzlies might just be over, “That $25k is gonna hit hard when he’s only getting minimum NBA offers this summer.”

Although a few fans still chose to defend Brooks and claim that not answering the media is freedom of speech, they are clearly the minority. While not making oneself available to the media isn’t considered a very big deal, Brooks is being subject to mockery because of his antics and behavior. After all, he had no problem confidently talking to the media when the Grizzlies were winning.
In any case, he has now been fined and fans want to see further punishment. While that is unlikely to happen, Brooks’ career with the Grizzlies might be in jeopardy after his recent behavior. Especially since his 3-year contract worth $35 million is set to expire this offseason.
