Adam Copeland aka Edge and Christian Cage were once part of a tag team in WWF/WWE. They were featured on screen as brothers and later as childhood friends. They went on to achieve huge success as a team. To this day, they are considered one of the greatest tag teams in the history of WWE.
However, the team later disbanded as Christian Cage left WWE in 2021 and walked into AEW. Meanwhile, after two years in 2023, Adam Copeland aka Edge also joined AEW. The latter’s debut occurred on October 1, 2023, at AEW’s WrestleDream PPV event. Copeland walked out during Cage’s match against Darby Allin and sided with Allin and Sting.
Thus, once again the legendary tag team members have been reunited. With that, Copeland recently appeared in an interview with CBS. During that, he talked about joining AEW after 25 years with WWE. He said surprising everyone, “If we (he and Christian Cage) could end this together, that’s the dream.”
The WWE Hall of Famer further mentioned what led to his decision to join AEW. Copeland said he sat down with his daughters and asked them what he should do. Then he added that they told him to go ahead and have fun working with Cage. The former WWE Superstar mentioned that it doesn’t indicate that he wasn’t having fun. However, he would have the most fun working with his best friend.
Adam (Edge) Copeland, speaking with CBS, on working with Christian in AEW: “If we could end this together, that’s the dream.”
“I sat down with my girls and I’m like, ‘OK, so what does dad do, girls?’ What do I do? And I laid out the scenarios for them. Lyric said it and then… pic.twitter.com/Sbz6JI2Dpb

While talking about working with Cage, Copeland also added that his wife, Beth Phoenix asked him what would be the definition of perfect World to him. He then replied, “My perfect world is that I end my career with Jay.’ So suddenly that perfect world looked like it could be there. It’s tough to pass that up.”
Thus, it seems the former WWE Superstar is thrilled to embark on his new journey alongside his best friend. In fact, he wants to end his career while working with Cage. With that, it now remains to be seen how the Tony Khan-led promotion has planned things out for the former tag team partners going ahead.
Christian Cage provides a statement on Edge aka Adam Copeland joining AEW
Adam Copeland aka Edge mentioned that he decided to join AEW to have “fun” working with his best friend Christian Cage. According to the wrestling legend his perfect world would be ending his career with his best friend. However, it seems Christian Cage isn’t as excited about Copeland joining AEW.
Copeland appeared in AEW during the main event of the WrestleDream pay-per-view event. In the main event, Christian Cage defeated Darby Allin to retain the TNT Championship. After the event, Cage appeared in the post-event media scrum. During that, Cage was asked about his friend’s arrival at AEW.
Providing a statement on Copeland becoming a part of AEW, Cage stated that he previously mentioned that he doesn’t have “any friends other than Luchasaurus.” He further added that he was surprised to see Copeland but he doesn’t care about it because “it doesn’t change anything” for him.
He went on to say, “I’m still the face of TNT, I’m still the TNT Champion, I’m still the man to beat in AEW. You understand that, right?” Thus, it seems Cage wasn’t thrilled enough to share the ring with his former tag team partner after such a long time. However, fans would with high anticipation to see when the legendary tag team duo will be seen together inside the squared circle.
