The tournament will begin with the group stages. The 30 teams across the league will participate in a knockout round in order to qualify for the quarter-finals, which is expected to be held on December 4 and 5. The teams that win those single-elimination games will move on to the semi-finals and finals on December 7 and 9 respectively.
In order to incentivize all the teams to play to the best of their ability, the NBA has organized a prize pool that will reward each member of the winning team with $500,000. More importantly, the league has also decided to acknowledge the coaching management and pay them alongside the players on the winning team.
