The plot thickens! Following the bar brawl turned street fight that rocked the fight world, we now have some new information. Whilst Nate Diaz was seen choking a person out, we now have more context on the situation. Interestingly, this could have some impact on which way the case goes.
Previously, Nate attended the Misfits X DAZN Series 006 in New Orleans, LA. On the night, Diaz showed up for his longtime friend and teammate, Chris Avila. Whilst Avila was able to win his fight against Paul Bamba, Diaz was unable to witness it as he was seemingly removed from the building. During the fight, Diaz launched a water bottle against Chase DeMoor which started a huge scuffle ringside.

However, the matter did not end there and led to an all-out brawl at Bourbon Street a few hours later. As such, this was where the Stockton Slugger infamously choked out Logan Paul’s doppelganger, Rodney Peterson. Thus, the general consensus was that Diaz may have choked out Peterson due to his resemblance to Paul. With Diaz choking out Peterson, the viral star fell to the ground while his head hit the concrete like a basketball.
Since then, there has been an arrest warrant issued for Diaz as well. With that said new footage shows Chase DeMoor also on the scene and Diaz backing up against the wall whilst people in Chris Avila t-shirts fight off attackers. Thus, it appears as though DeMoor, an American Football player turned reality TV star likely brought his horde of teammates. Having had a bottle thrown at his face, it is likely that he wanted revenge.
What does this mean for Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz?
With this new footage coming to light, it can be seen that Nate is in fact trying to flee from the scene. Thus, his actions could very well have been in self-defense. As for him choking out Peterson, Diaz could well have felt that the Logan Paul lookalike was trying to delay his escape. Whilst the full context of the matter remains unknown, there are other pressing concerns for Diaz.
Recently, Jake Paul announced that he will be taking on Nate Diaz in a boxing match on August 5, 2023. However, with Diaz being charged with second-degree battery and an arrest warrant issued for him, things are looking dicey. If found guilty, Diaz may face up to 8 years in prison along with a $2000 fine. Thus, if he is not acquitted, Diaz will be behind bars and unable to take on Jake Paul in August. In light of this, longtime rival and arch-nemesis KSI has offered to step in and replace Diaz.
Lol why Dont u to scared pussys just fight each other august
I’ll fight someone who can really fight pic.twitter.com/93sYpseNNf— Nathan Diaz (@NateDiaz209) April 25, 2023
Taking to Twitter, KSI stated that he would gladly step in to settle his beef with Jake, should Diaz be unable to make the fight. Interestingly, KSI is set to take on Joe Fournier at Misfits X DAZN Series 007 next month. Almost instantly, Jake Paul accepted and stated his conditions for the fight. Seeing this, Nate also gave his response. “Lol why Dont u to scared p****s just fight each other august. I’ll fight someone who can really fight.”
Currently, it appears as though Nate is not in custody. However, it may be an entirely different situation within the next few days. Do you think Diaz will be arrested? Will he be able to fight Jake Paul or will KSI replace him? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
