LeBron James‘ recent comments about the struggles that he has gone through in his NBA career have the basketball community wildly reacting. As many NBA fans should know by now, King James is one of the most accomplished and accoladed players in the history of the NBA. Throughout his 21-year NBA career so far, LeBron has managed to make the NBA Finals 10 times and has 4 championships to his legacy.

Over the years. the number of supporters and critics alike for the Los Angeles Lakers star has risen dramatically. In fact, one could argue that LeBron has transcended to become a global personality and is well-known across the world.

Although fans will certainly be able to recall his accomplishments, his struggle and journey to the top is something that not everyone will know much about. With that being said, let us take a closer look at what LeBron has to say about the path he was put on and how fans feel about his perspective.

NBA fans disagree with LeBron James’ claims about his career struggles

To quickly summarize LeBron James’ long NBA career, he was drafted into the league by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2003 NBA Draft. He struggled to carry the team through the postseason for a few years and finally managed to make the NBA Finals in 2007. However, a crushing loss to the San Antonio Spurs led to his decision to join the Miami Heat.

There, James won 2 titles in 4 Finals appearances before returning to the Cavs. He managed to carry the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals 4 more times and won a title in the 2016 NBA Finals. LeBron then took his talents to the Los Angeles Lakers and won a championship alongside Anthony Davis in 2020.

While it might seem like LeBron had a fair share of luck to go deep into the postseason several times in his career, he recently revealed that his journey in the NBA was quite hard.

“I wish I had an easy road. I’ve watched a lot of basketball in my lifetime and seen some incredible teams…some of the roads were easier than others and it just seems like my road has always been a difficult challenge but it’s the position I’ve been put in. As I continue on this journey throughout my professional career and at the end of the day it makes it that much sweeter, when you’re able to go through all the thorns throughout the rosebush.”

Although there is no denying that LeBron had to overcome a lot to find success in his NBA career, some fans didn’t buy this narrative blindly and claimed that James dominated a weak Eastern conference for several years.

Ungrateful LeBron, he had the weakest conference of all time and he still acts like he had hard competition. How selfish of him, he should be ashamed.

In any case, all of this can be up for debate and the NBA fans should be the best judges. After all, we have seen LeBron struggle quite a bit to find success and establish himself as the NBA legend we know him to be today.
