UFC 300 fight week festivities are just beginning and we’ve already gotten a glimpse of what is to come. Arguably, the biggest combat sports event of the year, the promotion is set to pull out all the stops for this one. With that said, let’s go over all the changes and new things in store for fans and fighters.
For the most part, the major highlight of 2024 was going be UFC 300. The company’s third centennial numbered event, there was a lot of hype since the initial rumblings. Thereafter, fight announcements followed and fans were sold a dream of one of the most mind-breaking fight cards ever.
Whilst it is far from what was promised by Dana White and Co. fans will agree that it is truly special either way. Despite the UFC not being able to do everything that they had planned for, what they managed to put together is remarkable nonetheless. Notably, as the rumors and reports suggest, there is still a lot more to come ahead of the event.
UFC 300 will see the introduction of new fighter gear
Recently, reports emerged that the UFC had plans to announce and present some new fighter gear at the UFC 300 weigh-ins. Thereafter, some media outlets revealed that the new gear was supposedly new gloves that the promotion has been testing for a while now. Despite an update to the gloves ahead of UFC 287 last year, there were still frequent incidents of eye pokes, as seen at UFC Atlantic City last month.
At the same time, fans were hoping that the gloves aren’t simply a rebrand rather, the UFC finally adopting Trevor Wittman’s gloves. According to UFC lightweight Chase Hooper, the soon-to-be-revealed gloves are in fact completely new and by his experience, far superior to what the UFC previously had on offer.

In addition to this, we have now seen the unveiling of new, customized fighter shorts for some of the fighters. Whilst Max Holloway’s wishes of a floral printed kit were finally answered, we also saw tribal warrior printed trunks for Alex Pereira, along with custom shorts for UFC strawweight champ Xhang Weili and BMF title holder Justin Gaethje as well.
Former champions take the stage at UFC 300 prelims
Previously, we have seen UFC 100 and UFC 200 have some of the most amazing fights on show. With the promotion failing to conjure up a super fight in the main event, they have instead chosen to stack the card with 12 former and current champions and some of the biggest names in mixed martial arts right now. As a result, UFC 300 is expected to break records at the T-Mobile Arena with a $15 million gate as well.
To put things into perspective, former champions Deiveison Figueiredo and Cody Garbrandt are the first fight of the night on the early prelims. Similarly, the former bantamweight king makes his featherweight debut against Calvin Kattar on the prelims as well. Most notably, Jiri Prochazka, who fought for the light heavyweight title in his last outing will be the featured bout on the prelims.

To further add to the spectacle and the grand occasion, the UFC is seemingly set to create even more hype, for the future. According to reports, the UFC 300 broadcast will see the announcement and the promo for Conor McGregor’s return at UFC 303 at International Fight Week. The rumored official announcement along with that of UFC 302, set to be headlined by Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier would truly be the cherry on top.
