Larry Nassar, an ex-USA gymnastics doctor, was stabbed a total of 10 times in prison. As reported by CNN, Nassar, who is in prison for sexually abusing female athletes, was stabbed “twice in the neck, twice in the back, and six times in the chest.”
According to a statement from the Bureau of Prisons, “on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at approximately 2:35 pm, an inmate was assaulted at the United States Penitentiary (USP) Coleman II, in Sumterville, Florida. Responding staff immediately initiated life-saving measures. Staff requested Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and life-saving efforts continued.”

Reports confirmed that the inmate is Nassar. He was transported to the hospital right after the attack. Joe Rojas, president of the local correction officers’ union, credited the corrections officers on the scene as they helped save Nassar’s life. Rojas further confirmed to CNN that Nassar is in stable condition.
More than 150 female athletes recounted how Larry Nassar sexually abused them over two decades
Nassar was “a danger” to society and remained a danger according to Judge Rosemarie Aquilina. The former USA Gymnastics doctor was sentenced to prison for the rest of his life. While announcing the judgment in a Lancing, Michigan, courtroom, Aquilina said to Nassar, “I’ve just signed your death warrant. I find that you don’t get it, that you’re a danger. That you remain a danger.”
As reported by CNN in 2018, “After more than 150 women and girls said in court that he sexually abused them over the past two decades,” Nassar was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison.
Previously, Nassar had admitted to using his medical position and “pleaded guilty to seven counts of criminal sexual conduct.”
At Nassar hearing, Judge and prosecutor debating how many victims have spoken (about 156). Take a moment to consider size of that number, let alone that there are so many no one is certain.

The statement came after seven days of victim statements. This was part of Nassar’s plea deal. In seven days, approximately 156 women recounted their stories of sexual abuse by Nassar. The stories were similar in the sense that Nassar would sexually assault them in the name of treatment.
“The breadth and ripple of this defendant’s abuse and destruction is nearly infinite,” Assistant Attorney General Angela Povilaitis said.
People connected to the victims of #LarryNassar say that Angela Povilaitis, the assistant AG of Michigan, and Detective Lt. Andrea Munford of the MSU Special Victims Unit, deserve tremendous praise for their work on this case when everyone else dropped the ball.

Nassar sat and listened to all the stories while sometimes putting his head in his hands or wiping away tears with a tissue.
On the other hand, Nassar had already been sentenced to “60 years in prison for federal child pornography charges.” In Eaton County, Michigan, he had already pleaded guilty to three charges of criminal sexual conduct. Judge Aquilina said that between these three sentences, Nassar would never get out of prison.
