The incident took place at the famous Millennium Hilton Hotel in New York, where they stayed. Porter was charged with second-degree assault and strangulation, according to several leading sources. The Houston Rockets star returned to his girlfriend at the Millennium Hilton extremely late after a night out in New York. Kysre Gondrezick, the girl identified was asleep leaving Porter locked from entering the room. After getting in with the help of security, he proceeded to attack her. KPJ allegedly beat her multiple times with a closed fist and choked her until she felt pain and almost breathless. Nobody knew of the incident until she escaped the room running through the hallway while she was covered in blood.

Kevin Porter Jr. was informed of the charges that were placed against him. Interestingly, the athlete denied the charges and pled not guilty. He was eventually released on bail which was either $75,000 in cash or a bond of $100,000. Porter is expected to make an appearance in court on October 16, 2023. This will be on the same day as the Rockets’ preseason game against the San Antonio Spurs.

Additionally, a YouTube host named Jackson Gaitlin exposed a prior incident between the athlete and a DJ. He said, “They were out at a club apparently and there was a disagreement I guess with the DJ in the club and KPJ took the laptop of said DJ and smashed it on the floor. Just completely destroyed it and started tearing the place up and the Rockets, they immediately got him out of there.”
Similarly, an Assistant District Attorney (Manhattan) revealed that Porter had assaulted Gondrezick on multiple other occasions. He once rammed his car into hers and had a couple of other incidents take place ever since they got together. Fans have been urging the NBA to remove him from the league. The Rockets are Kevin Porter Jr.’s second team with whom he averaged 19.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game last season. As far as Gondrezick, she suffered fairly brutal injuries that had her family send a threat to Porter as well. The WNBA star had a fractured neck vertebra and a cut over one of her eyes.
