Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jiri Prochazka opened up about his views on the UFC 300 main event. Alex Pereira will be defending his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship for the first time against Jamahal Hill at UFC 300.
Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka faced a similar fate in their title reigns. Prochazka won the title in June 2022 at UFC 275 against Glover Teixeira. However, he vacated the title soon after because of an injury. On the other hand, Hill also defeated Teixeira in January 2023 at UFC 283 to win the title. Hill also had to vacate the title soon after due to an injury.
Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka fought for the vacant title at UFC 295 and the Brazilian was clinical in his finish. He won the fight via TKO in the second round. Although fans called it an early stoppage, Prochazka agreed to the referee’s call.

Before the Czech fighter, Hill got his shot at the title at UFC 300. When asked about who he thinks will win the fight, Prochazka, in an interview with Sportskeeda, said, “There is more weapons on the Jamahal Hill side.” However, he wishes for the better fighter to win.
Jiri Prochazka will be ready to slot in if needed at the UFC 300 main event
In a surprising turn of events, Prochazka’s fight against Alexander Rakic at UFC 300 is not on the main card. Fans have shown disappointment over Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage being on the main card but former champions like Prochazka and Aljamain Sterling being on the prelims.
However, Prochazka is ready to fight on the headliner if he gets the call-up. When asked if he would be ready to be the backup fighter for the main event, he said, “I believe I’m prepared for whatever… All the time. I’m the yes man.” If not, Prochazka is hoping to fight the winner of the UFC 300 main event for his title shot.

UFC 300 is just a month away and the fighters are deep into their fight camps now. The milestone UFC PPV will be taking place on April 13, 2024, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Jiri Prochazka does not have any feelings of revenge against Alex Periera
After defeating Prochazka, ‘Poatan’ became the ninth two-division champion in UFC history. He earned the middleweight title late in 2022 and lost it in his first defense. The Brazilian moved to the light heavyweight division and was given a title shot in just his second bout. He earned his title with a win against Prochazka.
When asked if he hopes to fight Periera once again in his career to make amendments, Prochazka refused. He claimed, “I’m not the person [who] looks for revenge.”

The Czech fighter claimed Pereira had an upper hand in the last fight because of “the details”. Prochazka is now working on those details and hopes to correct his mistakes.
UFC 300 is lining up to be one of the best cards in UFC history. UFC 299 also featured several top fighters and was stacked right from the prelims. With former champions like Prochazka and Sterling in the prelims of UFC 300, the event is unmissable.
