Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland were joined by some of the other members of the UFC 293 card for the official pre-fight press conference in Syndey, Australia. The press conference was eagerly anticipated by fans as Strickland is a personality that promises fireworks with words. The American MMA fighter did just that, however, Adesanya uncannily chose to not fight back. Instead, he chose a completely different fight.
Strickland wasted no time before jumping on the Adesanya “dog fetish” bandwagon. The Last Stylebender has been accused by YouTuber The MMA Guru of having a weird “dog fetish”. Fans speculated if Strickland would use this as ammo during the press conference and the American delivered.
He mentioned the video of Adesanya touching the private parts of his dog and claimed that he verified it to be real. Adesanya refused to comment even after being provoked by Strickland. The Nigerian-Kiwi fighter only said, “When you argue with a fool, those who are watching can’t tell who’s who.”
Strickland continued his onslaught and called him a “puppy p*rn man.” However, Adesanya did not let his opponent get to him and made no comments.
On the other hand, when Manel Kape started abusing Kai Kara-France, Adesanya came to the Kiwi fighter’s defense. Angolan-Portuguese fighter Kape was unhappy due to France’s withdrawal from their fight. He started hurling abuses at France who was present in the crowd. Tai Tuivasa tried to calm things down, however, Adesanya stood up to come to France’s defense.
Kape took no prisoners as he started hurling abuses towards Adesanya as well. The Middleweight champion said, “Look at this little mi*get trying to f*ck with me” before sitting down. Tuivasa and Strickland both got involved to stop the chaotic moment.
Sean Strickland continued his onslaught against Israel Adesanya throughout the press conference
Throughout the press conference, Strickland kept calling Adesanya names to provoke him. Some of those included “Chinaman” and “cringelord”.
Whenever Strickland got a chance to speak, he made sure to use some of those names to rile Adesanya up. He kept mentioning the “dog fetish” while fans in the comments of the YouTube stream spammed the dog emoji. However, Adesanya showed composure and did not fall for Strickland’s words.
