With the end of the 2022-23 NBA season, the next NBA action will tip off soon. The NBA Summer League is scheduled to tip off on July 7th, about two weeks post the 2023 NBA draft. The California Classic Summer League and the Salt Lake City Summer League will both tip off on July 3rd, followed by the NBA 2K24 Summer League, which would last for 10 days.
Top prospects like Victor Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson, the much-anticipated youngsters will finally step onto NBA hardwood to showcase their talents.
Victor, the projected number-one pick will be drafted by the San Antonio Spurs. There are multiple games scheduled before the start of the 2K24 summer league. Wembanyama has made a lot of noise ever since his draft projection last year. The 19-year-old, who is already playing in the French League Finals has his basketball schedule packed.
Victor Wembanyama has a lot on his plate ahead his draft
The teenager is currently playing in the French League Finals, which like the NBA has a best-of-seven series. The series will end before the draft, for which Wambi will have to appear. Following his draft, the Spurs have their scheduled summer league games in less than two weeks.
It’s going to be quite the start for Wembanyama, though his NBA career is just at its amateur phase. With the summer league right around the corner, reports say that Wembanyama is unlikely to participate in this off-season tournament.

It would’ve been a matchup between the number one pick versus the probable number two pick, Scoot Henderson. The California Classic opener is scheduled for July 3rd at the Golden 1 Center.
The Kings will be hosting this version of the summer league, as each of the six teams will play two games, from July 3-5. San Antonio’s schedule includes two games, facing the Hornets as well as the Lakers. NBA players do like to show up to this off-season tournament, scouting the rookies.
All eyes are set on Victor, as he is termed the best prospect in basketball history by quite a lot of critics. With his status to play in the tournament listed as unlikely, it is actually for his best. Another one of the prospects, Chet Holmgren, who was drafted by the Thunder, suffered an injury playing in the Pro-Am, that kept him sidelined for his rookie season. Victor’s absence in this tourney does seem like a safer option for the Spurs as well as for him.
