SUMMARY
- WWE has released several major in-ring performers from their roster.
- The list of released stars includes names like Jinder Mahal, and Xia Li.
WWE is in one of its best phases both in terms of business and also the storylines, and that’s why it is receiving a lot of praise from the professional wrestling world. Due to the great product the company has been offering, the recently held WrestleMania 40 was the most successful edition of The Showcase of the Immortals.
Despite all the financial success the Triple H-led promotion has made in recent times, the organization has released some names. Among all the stars who have been released, the most surprising one is former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. The confirmation of this was given by The Modern Day Maharaja himself, as he announced it through his X handle. The Indian-origin pro wrestler wrote, “I Quit. Maharaja Out.”

Jinder stated in his tweet that he has quit the promotion, but as per reports, he has been released and is on a 90-day non-compete clause. Mahal wasn’t the only Indian-origin star to be released by the company, as his Indus Sher-mate Veer Mahaan has also parted ways with the company. Sharing a tweet in his native language, Veer stated, “When it comes to the honor and respect of Indians, sacrifice comes first. Good Bye WWE.”
Similar to these two, Xia Li has also been released, and she expressed her emotions through a social media post. She wrote, “I’m sincerely grateful to WWE and HHH for welcoming me into this big family.” Her statement showcases the respect she has for her time in the organization, as she now looks forward to making big in her career as a wrestler.
WWE stars who haven’t yet reacted to their release
Jinder Mahal and Veer Mahaan have shared their respective statements about WWE’s decision to release them, but their friend Sanga hasn’t. Just like the other two, this Indus Sher member has also been released by the Triple H-led promotion, but he hasn’t yet reacted to it.
Similarly, former professional rugby player and NXT star Xyon Quinn has also been released from the company after being on the yellow brand for a long time. The Australian-born superstar has also stayed silent about his departure from the pro wrestling organization till now, but it remains to be seen if he shares some statement in the near future or not.
Released WWE stars who had unsuccessful storylines
All the WWE stars, except The Modern Day Maharaja, who have been released in the latest layoffs by the promotion, haven’t really done much in recent times. But all these pro wrestlers were talented enough to do well, and it was just that some of them were part of unsuccessful storylines.
Talking about unsuccessful creative plans, Veer Mahaan was hyped up a lot by airing vignettes for months by the company after he was repackaged, but all that work went in vain. The Stamford-based promotion didn’t really capitalize on the start he got after finally re-debuting on RAW, and the whole idea was eventually dropped.
Xia Li was also once pushed heavily by the organization, until all her momentum was drained due to some questionable booking decisions. After being called up to the main roster, the female star was a part of numerous matches that had high stakes, but she never won any title opportunities, which shows that she never got the chance to showcase her true talent on a grand stage.
On the other hand, Sanga and Xyon Quinn never really got going and weren’t able to find their true selves in the organization. Even though Sanga was a part of Indus Sher, he was never the shining star of the faction and worked more like a side character in the group. As WWE has officially released these five performers, it remains to be seen what’s next for each one of them in the world of pro wrestling.
