After the game had come to an end, Tyrese discussed Wembanyama and revealed more about an interaction between the two NBA stars which created a lasting impression in Maxey’s mind. With that being said, let us take a closer look and find out more.
Victor Wembanyama has sought advice from several NBA stars
Although Victor is already considered to be a transcendental talent and one of the best young stars in the league, he has remained relatively humbled throughout his rookie season and sought the advice and mentorship of several NBA stars. As soon as Wemby was drafted, he reportedly had an interaction with Spurs legends Tim Duncan and David Robinson.
Maxey recently revealed that Wemby’s approach to this matchup was different when compared to any other player he has gone up against during practice or scrimmages.
“I knew he was going to be really good because he comes in I workout early he’s coming to workout right after me. He comes up to Tim, he’s like hey I wanna play Tyrese 1 on 1 but I wanna be on all time defense so I’m looking at him like I never heard a player say that like I just wanna play defense on 1 on 1 so I’m like whatever…”

Since the modern NBA is more offense-oriented, fans can certainly understand why Tyrese was taken aback over Wemby wanting to play just defense throughout the whole game. Victor’s practice certainly appeared to pay off as he is currently one of the best defenders and rim protectors in the league.
Tyrese Maxey scored 52 points in a recent win over Wemby and the Spurs
While Maxey implied that both of them won a few games during their scrimmage, it is evident that Tyrese is the more experienced and superior player at this point in time. After all, the 76ers star scored 52 points and led his team to victory over Wemby and the Spurs during their most recent matchup.
