Randy Orton made a jaw-dropping return at the WWE Survivor Series 2023. Joining hands with Cody Rhodes, Orton went ahead to be the fifth man on his team, eventually helping to earn the win in their favor. Orton walked to the ring in the best-ever shape and fans couldn’t help but adore the jacked Randy Orton.
Being sidelined from WWE action for almost a year for his injury, it wasn’t an easy time for The Viper. As revealed by Kurt Angle, Randy Orton’s glamorous return came as a result of a very tough recovery phase. In the latest edition of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show, Kurt revealed the struggles that Orton faced post-surgery.
Kurt Angle said that Randy Orton struggled with (back) surgery and wasn’t getting better, leading to frustration:
“He’s an unbelievably talented individual and I think WWE really needed him. He does look great. I’m just happy he’s back because he really struggled with that… pic.twitter.com/x5CYXn5eD9

During Orton’s recovery, Angle was in constant talks with the 43 year old star. “Hey, man, it’s not looking good. I don’t know how my back is going to heal if my back’s going to heal,” Randy Orton would tell Kurt. As a result, Orton was very worried about his well-being. Everyone was quite skeptical about his return, but he made a massive comeback.
Just like every other WWE fan, Kurt Angle was very happy about Randy Orton’s return. “I’m just happy he’s back because he really struggled with that surgery. Yeah, wasn’t getting better he was really frustrated and I’m just glad that he was able to make it back,” said the Olympic gold medalist.
Kurt Angle predicts Randy Orton’s tenure in the ring
While Kurt Angle spoke about Randy Orton, he didn’t fail to predict the future of the returning WWE star. Being in his 40s, Angle went ahead and called Orton quite young. “Me and other guys that are wrestling like Sting in his 60s and Chris Jericho in his 50s So yeah, he’s still young,” he said.
This fact allowed Kurt to predict that Randy Orton “still has a good six or seven years if he stays healthy.” On the other hand, it is expected that the WWE star will continue to perform in the ring at least until he’s 50 years old. This makes Kurt Angle’s prediction quite accurate.

Kurt Angle and Randy Orton seem to be quite close beyond the WWE ring. With the comments that he recently made on his podcast, fans are convinced that Angle is one of the biggest fans of The Viper. This justifies the claim that Angle’s prediction is based on Orton’s comments on the matter.
