Both Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar are top stars in WWE who are both loved and adored by their fans. However, it seems that one of them has a unique perception about the other.
Rhodes feels Lesnar is misunderstood in the WWE industry. That is what he meant when he appeared on the ‘After The Bell‘ podcast. He mentioned that in the wrestling industry, each one of them possesses a different perception and reputation.
Cody Rhodes then went on to say “I believe he [Lesnar] has a reputation that is incorrect, in terms of the type of person he is, as far as, ‘Does he even like wrestling? Does he care about wrestling? How professional? Does he train?’ All of this“.
He stated that until and unless someone is extremely passionate, they don’t get to be where Lesnar is. The American Nightmare also mentioned that he has never spoken to Lesnar, nor is he friends with him, but he likes the idea that the latter is absolutely fine with the reputation that he has.
The American Nightmare and The Beast Incarnate previously collided at WWE SummerSlam 2023 in a rubber match. At the event, Rhodes successfully defeated Lesnar. However, following the match, Rhodes also earned Lesnar’s respect as the former UFC star raised his opponent’s hand.
Lesnar acted as a heel all along during his long feud with Rhodes. However, in the end, he showcased a different side, turning babyface in the process. No wonder the former AEW star feels that way about him.
What’s next for Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar in WWE?
Now that Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes are done feuding with each other, it’s time for them to walk their separate ways. Cody Rhodes previously faced Roman Reigns at the Grandest Stage of Them All for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. However, Rhodes lost to Reigns following interference from Solo Sikoa. Despite that, the story seems to be far from over, since winning the title is Rhodes’ ultimate aim.
With Lesnar now out of the scene, The American Nightmare might once again shift his focus back to The Tribal Chief. However, it doesn’t look like the match will take place anytime soon before WrestleMania 40. So, prior to that Rhodes might engage himself in a feud or two against the likes of Dominik Mysterio, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, or others.
On the other hand, Brock Lesnar might take some time off from WWE television. He’s not a full-time performer, and now that he has appeared in three pay-per-view events, he might go on a hiatus before returning and igniting a new feud with a new opponent.
However, Dave Meltzer previously reported that “He’s advertised for Fastlane. So, I don’t know if that’s when he returns. He’s not; he’s going to be gone for a little while, was what I was told, but not a long while, whatever that means.”
Now that the upcoming pay-per-view event, WWE Payback 2023 is near, it is to be seen if WWE has any plans of incorporating The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes and The Beast Brock Lesnar into the aforementioned event.
