Gunther is dominating the Intercontinental Championship with a record-breaking reign as of now. It may not be easy to surpass Gunther’s record of holding the title for the longest. With his consecutive defenses, he has demonstrated that he is a dominant champion during this time. Gunther has a legacy that may be tough to equal because of his immense sheer force.
He has truly decimated everyone who came in his way, and he looks completely unstoppable. There have been various moments during his reign where his title looked in complete danger, but The Ring General came on top, defying the odds. He prepares to face his mightiest battle against The Miz, who has graced the Intercontinental Title eight times in his career.
During their rivalry, Gunther has shown no respect to the Legendary Eight-time Intercontinental Champion. They have had several verbal exchanges, and The Ring General has utterly humiliated The Miz. The duo met again en route to the Survivor Series on the episode of RAW on November 20. Gunther stated that he doesn’t respect The A-Lister and has no sign of respect for any WWE Legend.
The Miz talked about how he has gained everyone’s respect despite hitting rock bottom several times in his career. He further stated how he would get respect from Gunther after winning the Intercontinental Title at the Survivor Series. Gunther truly destroyed Miz’s whole career after calling him the victim of bullying throughout his school and WWE career.
Gunther stated, “Little Mike Mizanin, some little weirdo that got bullied in high school because he idolized all those heroes that you just named. And when you graduated from high school, you pursued a career to become a WWE Superstar. You finally get to meet all your heroes and they bullied you to make you understand that you don’t belong in this sport”.

He ended his verbal attack after talking about how the bullying won’t end and will continue at the Survivor Series. The duo had a brawl, which saw The Miz go low and be on top of their confrontation. With the Survivor Series around the corner, Miz had most of their last confrontation before their title match.
The Miz looks to tie a historic Intercontinental Championship Record at Survivor Series
The A-Lister has shown from time to time how he can turn things around in a matter of seconds. His decisive calculations, clever movements, and exceptional personality have gained him a lot of fans throughout his career. With such a decorated career, he has won the Intercontinental Title eight times in his illustrious career.
Miz would look forward to winning the title for a record ninth time, sharing the record for most title reigns with AEW Superstar Chris Jericho. Jericho has the record for the most Intercontinental Reigns with nine in his legendary WWE career.
With their much-anticipated rivalry going off the charts, The Miz and Gunther have truly shown that they go to any length to sell their match. Both of them would surely make an instant classic at the Survivor Series 2023. With The A-Lister having a huge record in his sights, The Ring General would look to prove his dominance and disrespect Miz.
