A former NBA star drew interesting comparisons between the late Kobe Bryant and Steph Curry. Most NBA fans will certainly know a great deal about both of these NBA legends. Kobe is considered one of the greatest players of all time and was a 5x NBA champion. On the other hand, Steph is regarded as the greatest long-distance shooter ever and is a 4x NBA champion.
Norris Cole is a former NBA star best remembered for his time with the Miami Heat. He has recently been appearing in podcasts and revealing inside takes on the lives and challenges of modern-day NBA players. Since this is information that the public might not have much access to, fans will certainly want to know what Cole had to say on this subject.
Does Steph Curry have the Mamba mentality?
One of the most common traits associated with Kobe Bryant was the Mamba mentality. It refers to his approach to the game as well as his relentlessness and inability to be intimidated. While it would be a stretch to claim that Steph has the same mentality, those who have watched the Warriors star dominate over the years might just accept that he does.
“You know Kobe…He was one of the best players ever period. He would work on his offense. He would do drill work. But then he also incorporated 1 on 1 work or when he played he would experiment and see but he did the drill work…That was the hard drive. So he knew what was in his toolbox.”
” Steph Curry, he did a lot of drill work before he turned into what he is now… he’s drilled so much it’s become instinct.”

Cole continued, “But some people naturally have it already. Like Steph Curry, he did a lot of drill work before he turned into what he is now. Now, he can freestyle, he can do whatever he wants…If you know his workout regimen from his junior or senior year…the drill work he used to do man during his junior and sophomore year in the NBA, it’s no wonder why he can shoot and dribble and pass in the condition that he’s in.”
It is certainly interesting to debate whether Curry naturally gained his arsenal or developed it much like Kobe Bryant. However, there is no denying that Steph put in an incredible amount of work in order to develop into the star he is today.
NBA stars struggle to keep up with Steph during workouts and drills
Fans who have watched Steph Curry on the court will struggle to comprehend the training and conditioning that he had to put his body through. After all, it is a well-known fact that Steph always keeps moving when on the court and never appears to slow down.
There have also been several stories circulating on social media revealing that younger NBA stars were unable to keep up with Steph and even vomited during some of the more intense workouts and drills.
Even other talented players such as Luka Doncic have struggled to keep up with Steph during ball handling and conditioning drills, which truly speaks to the abilities of the greatest shooter of all time.
