WWE’s Rated R Superstar Edge competed in the last match of his contract about a month ago on SmackDown’s August 18 episode. In his final fight, Adam defeated Sheamus in front of a hot Canadian crowd, and since then a lot of talks have been ongoing about his future in the pro wrestling industry.
The veteran had previously claimed that he wasn’t sure about his professional future, and that’s why he didn’t renew his contract with the Stamford-based promotion. But it’s now being said that Edge wants to continue in WWE, but he reportedly has one condition for a return.
“It’s the same thing (as Jade Cargill & AEW being apart on money) with Edge and (Drew) McIntyre.

As recently claimed by Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, money has been a major reason behind Edge not renewing his contract with the Stamford-based promotion. He added that even though the deal can happen, but right now they are far away from a deal, as Edge isn’t happy with the money offered.

It must be remembered that the Hall of Famer previously revealed that he has a WWE contract sitting in his inbox. But, with reports claiming that he’s not getting the money he desires, the uncertainty about his in-ring future has gone higher. It remains to be seen what the future holds for The Ultimate Opportunist‘s association with the Triple H-led promotion.
Latest on Edge’s contract negotiations with WWE
In the midst of the claims that Edge and WWE are far apart on money in renewing the Hall of Famer’s contract, it must be remembered that the Rated R Superstar’s current deal is ending soon. It’s been believed that the 49-year-old’s deal will end at the end of this month.
During his conversation about the veteran’s contract, Dave Meltzer shared that WWE can afford anyone due to the amount of money they have. But they have a certain amount of money in mind and don’t necessarily go beyond that amount.
With them not being close to finalizing a deal with a loyal performer like Edge, there’s a possibility that The Ultimate Opportunist might be desiring too much money. However, nothing official is known about what the offer is from WWE or what the 49-year-old might be asking.

Therefore, it currently remains to be seen if we’ll get information about how far apart both parties are in terms of money. With speculations being made that Edge could be joining AEW, it’ll be interesting to see whether he’ll renew his contract with the Stamford-based promotion or if he will really make the shift to All Elite Wrestling.
