WWE is currently having one of the best periods of its entire existence. With a recent $5 billion Netflix deal, a $21.4 billion merger with UFC, and sold-out arenas, the pro wrestling company is at an all-time high. It is about to get even better as the company prepares to host WrestleMania 40 on April 6 and 7. However, behind the scenes, there are a lot of movements going on with Vince McMahon at the center of it all!
As fans may remember, former WWE employee Janel Grant made some serious allegations against Vince McMahon. Grant, who held a $75,000/year job in the company, filed a s*x trafficking lawsuit against the former WWE CEO. In the lawsuit, she also mentioned that McMahon used her in order to lure Brock Lesnar into signing for the company.
In an even more sinister allegation, Grant added that McMahon s*xually assaulted her several times and even defecated on her during one such encounter. After the news broke, the WWE co-founder denied all the allegations and added that he would prove his innocence. However, he resigned from the company and sold more than $400 million worth of his shares in March 2024.
Now, according to the latest SEC filings, the 78-year-old has sold even more stocks from his TKO shares. McMahon. who played a large role in WWE’s merger with UFC to form TKO, had a role as the executive chairman of the company. But, after his resignation, the former WWE head honcho sold $408 million worth of TKO stocks initially, and now, he has sold off another $100 million worth of stocks.
WWE has reportedly banned Vince McMahon from being mentioned on TV
It looks like WWE is well on its way to erase Vince McMahon from the company’s history. if his cashing out $508 million worth of TKO stocks was not a clear enough indication, a recent report has shed more light on the matter. On the March 25 edition of Monday Night Raw, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre had a great segment where they verbally roasted each other for over 20 minutes.
At one point during his promo, Drew called himself “The Chosen One.” It is important to mention that the nickname in question was given to him by Vince. So Punk asked “The Scottish Warrior” to name the person who assigned Drew the nickname. However, the 38-year-old only responded with a smile. It made fans question why neither wrestler said Mr. McMahon’s name.

A report from Wrestling Observer Radio later revealed that performers on screen are reportedly not allowed to say Vince McMahon’s name any longer. Vince seems to be the latest person to join the list of names who are banned from being said out loud on the TV.
