Dana White is known for being one of the best promoters in the fight game. Whilst his life has been riddled with controversy and health problems. With that said, he has recently undergone a tremendous transformation, owing to a fast.
Previously, the UFC President would share about his weight transformation, often sharing before and after pictures. However, he still struggled with sleep apnea and other problems with his legs. As such, Dana enlisted the help of Gary Brecka who has since helped him increase his life expectancy as well.
Since then, White has become very particular about his health, often trying new things to try and improve his health. Speaking on the FULL SEND PODCAST about his recent water fast, White said, “I’m still at 192. After the fast, I was 192 (lbs). My buddies that did it lost 10 lbs, I only lost like 5 or 6, and I did it coming straight out of New York, and I ain’t gonna lie, I ate a couple of bad things in New York.”
Further, White revealed how he treated himself to a bit of pasta during his time in New York. Having recovered from his sleep apnea thanks to Gary Brecka, the 54-year-old admitted to ‘snoring like a beast‘ afterward. Whilst it may be very normal for some, snoring loudly and waking up tired is a big indicator of sleep apnea, which may be life-threatening if not treated properly.
Why did Dana White do an 86-hour water fast?
As mentioned previously, the UFC head honcho attempted an out-of-the-ordinary, 86-hour water fast. For those unaware, the three-and-a-half-day fast is said to yield very positive results and various health benefits for people who try it. Having found out that the fast reduces the risk of cancer, Alzheimer’s, and other complications, White attempted the feat.
According to White, he started his fast on Saturday night (November 11, 2023) after the UFC 295 event in New York City, concluding it on Wednesday morning (November 15, 2023). Following the fast, White took to social media to share how good he felt and shared some pictures of his transformation as well. Notably, Dana looked a lot leaner, with much more definition in his abdominal region.

Thus, fans were left very impressed by the boss’s health update. Speaking about his diet, White revealed that he only drank water for the first 24 hours. Although electrolytes can be added to the water, no other food can be consumed during the fast. Additionally, White advised to have bone broth twice a day along with water. Interestingly, the exact broth White had was also recommended by Gary Brecka.
As for his diet, Dana heavily integrated electrolytes into his water diet. Notably, he used the grape-flavored Ultima Replenisher Hydration Electrolyte Powder. Recommending the same for its great taste, White also had the ‘Kettle & Fire’ bone broth as well. Thus, White thoroughly benefited from the diet and urged people to try the same as well.
