The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) prides itself on its ability to put up some of the most exciting match-ups in combat sports. While they have more than delivered on their promise, it now looks like UFC President Dana White is all set to top himself with UFC 300. Previously, White teased that he would make sure that the forthcoming marquee event would be one of the best of all time.
UFC 300 will take place on April 13, 2024, inside the T-Mobile Arena. Both UFC 100 and UFC 200 delivered some of the most memorable moments in MMA history and it seems like that trend will keep going. Recently, Dana White took to his social media platforms to confirm a much-anticipated fight for the event. So the question is, what are the confirmed bouts so far and are there any surprises? Let’s find out.
All the confirmed fights for UFC 300 so far
Recently crowned BMF champion, Justin Gaethje will take on Max Holloway at UFC 300. While Holloway is the perhaps greatest featherweight fighter of all time, Justin is the most exciting fighter in the company at present. With the kind of chin Holloway has, it should make for an interesting bout. But that is not the only championship bout on the card.
Women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili will take on fellow Chinese fighter Yan Xiaonan at the April 13 event as well. After winning the belt against Carla Esparza at UFC 281, Weili defended her belt successfully at UFC 292 against Amanda Lemos. The Xiaonan fight will be her second title defense of the reign. Yan, on the other hand, is coming off a KO win over Jessica Andrade.

From former lightweight champ Charles Oliveira to former light heavyweight title holder Jiri Prochazka, UFC 300 is shaping up to be a star-studded event. However, one fight that has caught everybody off-guard, is between Holly Holm and Kayla Harrison. And it was the UFC President Dana White to announced the news to the fans and hyped up the contest.
Dana White hypes up Kayla Harrison ahead of UFC debut
Kayla Harrison is an established MMA fighter, who has a record of 16-1 in the sport. She held a 15-fight win streak in the PFL where she made her debut against Brittney Elkin on June 21, 2018. Afterward, she became the PFL lightweight champion in 2019, where she secured a unanimous decision win against Larissa Pacheco. Ironically, it was Pacheco who beat Harrison in November 2022 and ended her monstrous streak.

Despite having an amazing MMA record, it is not the biggest accomplishment of her career. The 33-year-old is a master Judoka and has dominated the sport for nearly a decade. To date, she remains the only Judoka in US history to win two back-to-back Olympic gold medals (2012 and 2016 respectively). So what does Dana White think of the signing?
He added, “The UFC has officially signed Kayla Harrison. Her takedowns, her ground and pound are nasty and this will be the first time she will be competing at bantamweight.”
As the 54-year-old mentioned, Kayla has never fought at 135lbs previously and her natural weight class is lightweight. So it will be interesting to see how the 5’8 star manages to cut the weight and fight healthily. With Amanda Nunes teasing a return to fighting, there are a lot of intriguing match-ups waiting for the former PFL champion if she can get past Holly Holm in April 2024.
