The UFC has made it a point to do away with people maligning and speaking out against their business. As it turns out, the trend is set to continue with Ryan Clark recently getting the chop, leaving his show, DC&RC. Notably, the event created a lot of buzz on social media after Daniel Cormier made the announcement official.
For those unaware, Ryan Clark is a former NFL player and analyst working on the DC&RC show with Cormier. having played for the New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Washington Redskins in the past, Clark has had an exemplary career in his sport. However, his interest in MMA and UFC led him to end up on a show with a former UFC champion.

With that said, on the latest episode of their podcast, RC announced that he would be leaving the show. Further, he thanked Daniel and the rest of the team before bidding them farewell. Thereafter, DC also took to social media to praise Clark for his dedication to the show. Moreover, he asked fans to tune in to their last episode together. Notably, the DC&RC show lasted for about 300 episodes on ESPN MMA.
What did Ryan Clark and Daniel Cormier say in their previous podcast episode?
For the most part, Ryan Clark, despite his non-MMA background had a good reputation among fans. Often praised for his based takes and ability to counter Daniel Cormier, his co-host’s points, Clark was a well-respected figure. However, whilst his takes and opinions were reasonable, sometimes they may have been a little too honest.
In last to last week’s show, the former NFL safety made a claim that likely played a role in his exit. Following the events of UFC 297, Clark was left unimpressed with Raquel Pennington’s fight against Mayra Bueno Silva. As such, he went on to comment on the state of the women’s bantamweight division. “If that is what’s going to be the highest level of the bantamweight division for the UFC, there should be a serious discussion of getting rid of it.”
Whilst Ryan put his point across, a hysterical DC could be seen laughing but at the same time agreeing to what was said. Notably, RC’s points resonated with the fans who tuned in to watch the show. Moreover, the co-host followed it up next week by saying that Kayla Harrison’s introduction at UFC 300 will be a saving grace for the division. As such, he theorized that it could also open the door for Amanda Nunes to make her return.
Fans react to Ryan Clark ‘leaving’ the DC&RC show
Coincidentally, only a week removed from Ryan Clark’s latest comments, he reveals that he will be leaving the show. Considering the timing of the news, many can’t help but wonder the reason behind his exit. Whilst some suggested that his contract was likely up after 300 episodes, others have pointed out his recent comments.
Soon after the announcement of his departure, popular MMA pages on social media got wind of the matter and shared their thoughts. Naturally, considering Clark’s reasonable yet offensive takes, many were quick to suggest what had likely transpired. Although some fans were relatively unbothered by the show or what RC said, active listeners were visibly dismayed by the co-host being made to leave the show.
As mentioned previously, Clark along with Cormier had formed quite the duo. With more than 50K views on most of their episodes, it is clear that the fans appreciated the co-host. In his farewell announcement, Ryan asked to be invited to the new show on occasion. However, if the reasons that fans have theorized for his exit are true, it would be an unlikely possibility.
