Ever since his WWE return, Cody Rhodes has been among the biggest stars in the promotion. The American Nightmare even main evented WrestleMania 39 against Roman Reigns, but he wasn’t able to win, and after that he went a bit lower in the ranks.
After a high-profile rivalry against Brock Lesnar that concluded with a victory for Cody at SummerSlam, he is currently seen defending Jey Uso’s shift on RAW. Due to this, he gets involved in different matchups, but it seems that his next full-fledged feud is about to start now.

WWE teased Rhodes’ next opponent by itself, and it might be the start of a never-before-seen feud. This happened at a recent live event, as RAW performer Omos attacked The American Nightmare. This attack has led to speculation about a potential feud between the two stars, but fans aren’t really happy about it.
Sharing how nobody expected this feud to take place, a WWE universe member wrote, “Nobody expected this chapter in the story.” “Cody didn’t comeback to feud with Omos,” someone from the audience said, while referring to the fact that Rhodes didn’t make a return for a rivalry against The Nigerian Giant. Looking at fans’ responses to a potential feud between Cody and Omos, it’s evident that they aren’t really happy about this potential rivalry. But it might be WWE’s way of keeping The American Nightmare busy until they start the build-up to his rumored match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
Cody Rhodes may reveal his next opponent on this week’s RAW
While there’s currently no confirmation of a feud between Cody Rhodes and Omos, things will probably get clear very soon. The American Nightmare is set to kick off the September 25 episode of RAW, and he may reveal his next opponent on the 3-hour show.
As Omos attacked Cody at a recent live event, there’s a high possibility that he could do the same on Monday Night RAW. If he really does, it would probably be the start of an interesting storyline between the two performers.

On the other hand, WWE can continue Rhodes’ story with The Judgment Day, by having the heel faction attack him. If they really show up to take out Cody, it’s highly likely that Jey Uso will also be coming out for the aid of the guy who introduced him as the newest member of the red brand.
Whatever happens during Cody’s kick-off segment on RAW will be interesting to see, and it’ll probably clear out the air around his future storyline. It remains to be seen if he’ll start a feud against The Nigerian Giant or continue the ongoing storyline due to his association with Main Event Jey.
