Nate Diaz takes on Jake Paul in his first fight as a free agent. Following the completion of his contract with the UFC, Diaz has insisted on expanding to a different sport. As such, it was announced earlier this year that Nate would be taking on influencer boxer and YouTube sensation, Jake Paul.
Paul, who has already won against former UFC fighters like Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley, is keen to add Diaz to the list. Having come up short against Tommy Fury earlier this year, this fight is all the more important for The Problem Child. As such, Diaz’s latest antics have left Paul seeming quite desperate ahead of the fight.

Previously, Nate left Jake exasperated after he exited their press conference for a ‘bathroom break’. Now, just days ahead of the fight, Diaz has once again done the same in their Face 2 Face. In a viral clip from the interview, a completely disinterested Nate simply up and left the show. Despite saying “I’ll be right back”, Nate simply got in his car and left the premises.
Once again, Jake was face-palming himself, wondering what was going on. Moreover, unlike last time, Nate did not even bother to return. Whilst some believe that Diaz’s nonchalance is a tactic to get Jake agitated and emotional, others feel that he simply does not care. Either way, Nate is still an entertainer and is doing well to keep people talking about the fight.
This was not the first time Nate Diaz has walked out
Whilst the full interview is yet to be released, the Face 2 Face has become a topic of great discussion. Seeing the body language and reaction from both fighters, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. Taking place at the American Airlines Center, in Dallas, Texas on August 5, ‘Ready 4 War’ is one of the most anticipated boxing fights of the year.
One of the fans wrote, “Bro went from fighting dangerous men like Connor to fighting jake Paul.. he don’t take him serious.” Similarly, others also chimed in stating, “Nate is not showing up to that fight”, “Lmfao. He was tryna figure out a reason to stay 😂”, and “He can’t believe YouTuber talkign b war lol”. Others even took pity on Jake for his precarious situation. “Very rarely do I ever feel bad for Jake Paul but lmao fuck man, the dude is really ice skating up hill 😂😂😂.”
On the other hand, there are fans who believe that Nate will take a dive. “it’s gettin to nate now. he regrets he took the bribe”. Whilst Nate’s behavior in the lead-up to the fight may be puzzling for some, long-time admirers are all too familiar with his game. For the most part, Nate has had a habit of acting disinterested and faking how prepared he is for fights.
Previously, we have also seen Nate employ a similar tactic for his canceled fight against Khamzat Chimaev. Fans witnessed Nate do well in wrestling and grappling exchanges against Tony Ferguson. After the fight, Nate also revealed that he trained really hard to wrestle but kept it hidden. If the same happens again, Jake is in for a surprise come Saturday night.
