How did Anthony Richardson perform in his first season at the NFL?
Richardson didn’t have a memorable opening to his professional career. Just after four games in the Colts jersey, the quarterback suffered a season-ending injury. On October 9, 2023, the rookie was placed on the injury-reserved team after a sprain in his AC joint.
At first, it was thought that the injury wasn’t very serious and he would make a comeback after one or two months. But a further report stated that the injury was more serious than expected earlier and that he wouldn’t be able to play again until the beginning of the new season.
In four games, Richardson completed 50 successful passes from 84 attempts, for a 59.5 percent completion rate. The 21-year-old also managed to cover 577 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception.
Richardson started all four games he played for the Colts, and if he was able to stay fit, he would prove to be one of Shane Steichen’s best weapons. Before the beginning of the new season, he is going through a recovery session, and his aim will be to stay fit after making a return to the pitch in order to perform well.
