The Grand Slams are the biggest spectacles in tennis. Being marquee events, players put their best foot forward to lift the prestigious titles. While the Slams are crowd-pullers, it can get exhausting for players as the season is very long. It is one of the reasons why Taylor Fritz supports the idea of having a “premium tour.”
What is the premium tour? It is just an idea that was floated by some of the organizers. If it comes to fruition, it would combine all four Grand Slams and the ATP/WTA 1000 events into one tour.
Fritz is in favor of having a premium tour. The American star feels that it would be easier for fans to follow the tournaments. Moreover, the schedule would become a lot easier for the players too.
“It’s a really good idea, and I think that we should have separate tours. If you’re on the main, top tour, you should be set to play all the big events, and they should all be slightly bigger-draw events to get basically everybody in the top 100 in,” said Fritz (via Tennishead).
Rumors about such a tour began circulating recently. There might be a meeting between the various organizers and governing bodies ahead of the Australian Open.

Australian Open chief Craig Tilley feels that implementing it would not be as easy. The governing bodies now have an opportunity to reform the sport, which would benefit everyone, including players.
Taylor Fritz has had a decent season. He made deep runs at various tournaments he played at and added to his title collection as well. While Taylor is vocal in his support of a premium tour, his girlfriend is ready to bring back a forgotten tournament.
Morgan Riddle, girlfriend of Taylor Fritz, reminisces a forgotten tour
Taylor’s girlfriend, Morgan, is a well-known social media influencer. Riddle recently took to Instagram to talk about a celebrity event that used to be held in the 1970s. Apparently, some of the biggest tennis stars would participate in a tournament that was held at the Playboy Mansion.
Jimmy Connors and former World No. 1 Ilie Nastase were regulars at the mansion in their youth. Riddle uploaded a photo of them at the mansion from a magazine. She captioned it, “Reading a magazine from the 70s – apparently the mansion held an annual celeb tennis tournament and I think we should petition to bring it back.”
Morgan and Taylor Fritz met through a celebrity dating app and started dating during the lockdown. Riddle has always supported Taylor at the different tournaments he played at. The American star’s career has been on an upward trajectory, and he will hope to continue in that vein next season too.
