Georges St-Pierre took to social media to reminisce about his UFC debut, which occurred at UFC 46 against Karo Parisyan in Las Vegas on January 31, 2004, more than twenty years ago.
The UFC Welterweight and widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists ever, Georges St-Pierre made his UFC debut with a perfect 4-0 record. More than a decade later, when GSP hung up his MMA gloves once and for all, he retired with a professional MMA record of 26 wins and just two losses.
Over his illustrious career, GSP became a two-division champion, winning the welterweight (twice) and the middleweight title. The Canadian fighter was on a 13-fight winning streak at the time of his retirement and boasts notable wins over the likes of BJ Penn, Matt Hughes, Jake Shiels, Carlos Condit, Nick Diaz, and Michael Bisping, among others.

UFC 46 was headlined by Vitor Belfort and Randy Couture, with the likes of BJ Penn, Frank Mir, and Matt Hughes. Georges St-Pierre competed in the main event of the preliminary card, winning the fight comfortably via unanimous decision against Karo Parisyan.
A young GSP showed shades of greatness right from his UFC debut, excelling against his opponent in sheer dominance. St-Pierre landed 138 strikes in the three-round shut-down of Parisyan, who managed to land only 23 total strikes. He took him down six times during the fight, marking the first showcase of GSP’s grappling.
