Stan Kroenke is the man behind the sports empire that owns the NBA’s Denver Nuggets. The franchise had a phenomenal 2022-23 season and nobody expected them to emerge as the NBA champions. They were barely in the championship conversation during the regular season. But it wasn’t until they beat the title favorites, the Phoenix Suns, that the world saw true potential.
His company, Kroenke Sports and Entertainment purchased the Denver Nuggets along with the Colorado Avalanche and their arena in 2000. Stan’s purchase cost $485 million according to Forbes. The Nuggets are currently run by his family with his son, Josh, taking over daily operations. This had to happen after the NFL had a few changes made regarding ownership of multiple teams from different markets.

However, his most priced possession is currently Nikola Jokic, who helped Stan Kroenke add another sports championship to his resume. Jokic helped the Nuggets to a title this past season averaging 30.2 points, 14 rebounds, and 7.2 assists on 58% shooting per game in the finals. He previously won back-to-back league MVP awards in 2021 and 2022. The Nuggets star was awarded the Bill Russell Finals MVP Trophy on June 12, 2023.

As a result of his numerous business deals, Stan Kroenke’s net worth is $12.8 billion as of 2023. However, this number is on a gradual rise due to the recent success of his sports teams.
