Alejandra Amarilla was born in Asuncion, Paraguay City, in South America. The exact date of her birth is unknown but we do know she was born in 1974, which makes her about 50 years old in 2024. Her father was an employee of the United Nations, therefore Amarilla had to move homes frequently in her childhood. She met her ex-husband, former NBA legend Steve Nash in New York in 2001, when he was playing for the Dallas Mavericks.
Nash and Amarilla had their first children in October 2004. They had twin girls, whom they named Lola and Bella Nash. Immediately after they decided to get married in 2005. They were happily married for five years until they welcomed their last child together, Matteo Nash in 2010. Nash filed for divorce the day after his son was born, and the reason why is still obscure but there are many prevailing theories.
Alejandra Amarilla is a social cause filmmaker now
According to some reports, the most logical reason that stands for Amarilla’s and Nash’s divorce is that they were having marital problems, months before the birth of Matteo and stayed together officially for the sake of Amarilla’s pregnancy. Nash brought the divorce papers the day after Matteo was born, so some suspect that other reasons could have been in play, for Nash to have such a severe reaction after the birth of his first son.
But in a statement, Nash mentioned to Style Magazine that he was separated from Amarilla for a few months before the birth of his son. That could have put all the speculations to rest.
Another widely speculated theory is that Alejandra Amarilla was having extra-marital relations with her husband’s teammate on the Phoenix Suns, Jason Richardson.
Nowadays, Amarilla is quite confidential on all of her social media accounts but according to her IMDB profile, we are aware that she spends her days as a filmmaker, especially focusing on topics that concern children and their well-being. Two films she has been credited for are Landfill Harmonic (2015) and Unleashing Creativity (2009). Her net worth is estimated to be about $1 million, a far cry from her ex-husband’s $95 million.
