It is time for the Golden State Warriors to hit the panic button and raise serious questions about their chances of contending for an NBA title this season. Almost all NBA fans will be aware that the Warriors are considered one of the most successful basketball dynasties in league history. Led by Steph Curry, the team has won 4 NBA championships within a span of 8 years with their most recent title run occurring in 2022.
With that being said, GSW fans must certainly be desperate to find out what needs to occur in order for their beloved team to salvage this season and make the playoffs.
The Golden State Warriors need to establish solid roles for Chris Paul and Klay Thompson
With the exception of Steph Curry, it appears as if the veteran guards on the Golden State Warriors have been dealing with a lot of issues this season. Fans will remember that the team made a trade for Chris Paul at the start of this season. However, CP3’s role on the team was questioned at the time and is yet to be answered satisfactorily. Moreover, he has been quite inconsistent and has only played in 49 games this season.
While speaking of inconsistency, it is nearly impossible to avoid discussing Klay Thomspon. The Warriors’ shooting guard turned down a contract offer in the offseason and chose to bet on his play this season. However, he has been shooting badly during several pivotal stretches of the season.
As a result, fans have claimed that Thompson is washed. Moreover, Steve Kerr made a temporary decision to bring Klay off the bench instead of starting the game.If the Golden State Warriors are able to find a suitable role for Thompson and CP3, their chances of going on a winning streak and making the playoffs certainly increase significantly.
Jonathan Kuminga needs to step up for the final stretch of this season
Jonathan Kuminga’s development and rise have been one of the best things that could happen to the Warriors this season. Unfortunately, Kuminga is currently dealing with knee soreness and has missed the past few games for the team.
In order to make the playoffs, Kuminga will undoubtedly have to step up and improve his play furthermore for the final stretch of the 2023-2024 NBA season. From Kuminga to Thompson to CP3 to Draymond Green and several others on the roster, the Warriors will have to improve their team chemistry and play drastically to make it out of the play-in tournament and into the actual postseason.
