Scottie Pippen has been a pillar of controversy in the past few years. The legendary small forward has come out in opposition of his long-time teammate Michael Jordan, saying that Jordan was never a great team player and that he used his teammates to win championships. Pippen’s marriage has also been a sore point, with a messy divorce from his wife Larsa Pippen that was finalized only in 2021.

Recently the 48-year-old Larsa Pippen has made headlines with the fact that she receives half of her ex-husband Scottie Pippen’s retirement fund from the Chicago Bulls. This was due to her being signed on as an ‘alternate payee’ of Scottie’s 401K plan with the Bulls. Now, a new development in the Scottie-Larsa divorce case is the contention of the fact that they both signed a prenuptial agreement in 1997.
Scottie Pippen wants ultimate responsibility for his 4 kids
Scottie Pippen has recently filed for full custodial responsibility of his 4 children with Larsa Pippen and demands that his prenuptial agreement with her be amended. Scottie wants full custody of his children rather than the shared institution that was set up with Larsa till now. Pippen has 4 children, Scottie Jr, Preston, Justin, and Sophia Pippen.
Pippen’s lawyer wrote, “The Husband requests that this court allocates parental responsibility whereby the Husband is awarded ultimate responsibility over issues relating to education, health care, and general welfare of the minor children.”
He also wrote, “If the petition is not granted, then it is in the minor children’s best interests that the Husband be awarded the majority of timesharing with the minor children during the pendency of this action and permanently thereafter.”

Pippen also pleaded with the court to relieve him from his alimony duties to Larsa and requested that he be able to amend their prenuptial agreement. Larsa doesn’t want to allow this to proceed as she believes she requires spousal support, the family home, tuition for their kids’ private schools, and other expenses.
Larsa also plans to use Scottie’s life insurance policy as collateral to make sure that he doesn’t amend the prenup. If Scottie does go through with it, Larsa will be able to cash out his life insurance policy and receive her remuneration in that form.
Scottie is worth an estimated $30 million in 2023 as compared to his ex-wife’s $10 million. Scottie and Larsa’s divorce has been going on for about 7 years now ever since they first filed for it in 2016. The estranged recently agreed to the dissolution of their marriage, but cooperative co-parenting of their four beautiful children.
