The NBA In-Season Tournament is underway and has already been entertaining for the world. The Golden State Warriors faced the Minnesota Timberwolves last night and the game definitely kept fans on the edge of their seats. Stephen Curry was forced to miss the game with a sprain in his right knee, with the return date still in doubt.
But Draymond Green took it upon himself to ensure the game was eventful. In the first quarter, even before the game’s first bucket, Jaden McDaniels and Klay Thompson got into it.
Draymond Green had Ruby Gobert in a headlock after defending Klay Thompson during Warriors vs Timberwolves
After Anthony Edwards’ failed three-point attempt, the Warriors transitioned into offense and Klay ran back with Jaden to the other side of the court. It looks like this was when it got too physical for both of the players, when they started pushing each other violently. Right when McDaniels’ grabbed Klay’s shirt, Rudy Gobert showed up from behind and grabbed the Warriors star.
This was when Draymond Green showed up in support of Klay, and did an MMA headlock/chokehold on Gobert right away. He attempted to bring the Wolves star to the ground but the best he could do was drag him away from Klay. However, this created enough commotion for the rest, as some of the players were caught in the scuffle as well.
Draymond Green should receive a lofty suspension.
That’s unacceptable and dangerous

Suspend that thug

That Draymond Green chokehold was needless fam. The NBA needs to hit him with a serious suspension. If he’s going to behave like an animal, he might as well get treated like one.

Following this incident, fans took to social media to express their disappointment with Dray. One tweeted, “Draymond Green should receive a lofty suspension. That’s unacceptable and dangerous.”
The physical altercation between the players resulted in an ejection for Klay, Green, and McDaniels. The Warriors lost the game on 104-101 and there will surely some discussions held with the players in the locker room. The game was there for the taking and the Warriors could have added to their wins this year if it wasn’t for the distractions.
Will Draymond Green be suspended?
Draymond Green seems to making headlines for all the wrong reasons in recent weeks. Just over a few days ago, Green got ejected when the Warriors faced the Cleveland Cavaliers. It looked like Spida wanted to get back at DG, for some contact the two had a few seconds ago. This was indicated when Mitchell pointed to the spot that they made contact with each other earlier.
However, Green didn’t take it too well, which eventually led to some shoving between the two. Although there wasn’t much physical involvement from Green, the NBA officials made the decision to eject the superstar.
It looks like Green could pay a heavy price for his antics on the court, especially if it causes harm to other players. A chokehold/headlock is not something to be taken lightly, especially in the game of basketball. Only time will tell as to how the NBA will decide to go about Green’s specific case.
