Michael Jordan’s parent was very supportive. Recently, the picture of Jordan and his parents above took over the internet. The picture was probably taken anytime between the early or late 80s. Jordan looks much younger and it was taken when his father was alive. Fans also appreciated how supportive Mike’s parents were throughout the years. This is one of the reasons why Jordan became the greatest player ever as well.
What happened to Michael Jordan’s parents?
Michael Jordan was extremely fond of his father. Interestingly, during his career, the 6x NBA Champion would always stick out his tongue while playing. This was a habit he had developed as a child while watching his father do the same during work. Unfortunately, James was murdered on July 23, 1993. Sources claim that James was at a rest stop on a highway near a Lumberton, North Carolina highway. Two teenagers carjacked and murdered him.
The men were eventually identified after they made multiple calls using James’ cellphone after the murder. Following the 1992-93 season, Michael decided to retire from basketball. He claimed he lost the drive to compete following his father’s death. Jordan went on to compete in Minor League Baseball. MJ’s father always wanted him to become a baseball star in the MLB.
After spending nearly two years away from the NBA, Michael Jordan returned in 1995. He went on to become a 6x NBA Champion while earning multiple other accolades along the way until 2003. His mother was his biggest support system throughout the years. She also helped him sign his career-altering deal with Nike when he was younger.
When MJ did not make his Varsity basketball team, his Mother did NOT:
1) complain to the school
2) call the coach
3) demand a meeting with the ADShe simply told MJ “work harder.”
Imagine what kids, and the world, would become if more parents were like Deloris Jordan pic.twitter.com/6Zo0JRsp9R
