Damian Lillard continues to make history in the NBA. By the end of his career, he will go down in history as one of the greatest players ever with a scoring capacity like no other. The Houston Rockets took a solid thrashing from the Portland Trail Blazers, and Dame walked away as one of the league’s best scorers.
We all know Damian Lillard is one of the very few individuals to have multiple 60+ point games. He managed to top that and enter another elite list that only eight people are a part of currently. He scored a whopping 71 points against the Rockets. This is the second 70+ point game this season with the first one being Donovan Mitchell’s.

Players such as Wilt Chamberlain, David Robinson, Kobe Bryant, and a few others are the only individuals in the history of the league to score 70 points. Before this season, Devin Booker was the last one to hit the milestone against the Boston Celtics back in March of 2017. Lillard also moved up a spot on the all-time scoring list and will eventually crack the top 50. Once he hits the 20,000-point milestone, Damian can easily run through most of the record holders on that list.
Damian Lillard and his fans react to being drug tested
Damian Lillard made a massive admission during the post-game press conference. He admitted to being drug tested following the game but this was the first time in his career that his blood was drawn. Similarly, even Donovan Mitchell was monitored for performance enhancers following his 71-point game.
Fans had a completely different take on this matter tying it with the NBA possibly being racist. One fan said, “Like I said when Mitchell dropped 71, there are deviant motives behind these drug tests and who gets called to do them, When Jokic and Luka have big games you do hear them saying they got tested following the game.” Another was blatantly honest, “They never do this to white athletes.”

This surely raises a few concerns regarding the league’s intentions against black athletes. But the NBA has been very supportive of its black individuals and strives to bring together people of various countries and backgrounds. However, it is true that whenever players like Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic have crazy performances, we can almost hear the sound of a pin drop with regards to them being drug tested.
