The first quarter of the game seemed promising for the Iowa Hawkeyes as they recorded a total of 27 points, while Carolina had 20. However, the next three quarters saw the Gamecocks scoring 29, 19, and 19 respectively whereas, Clark’s team was able to record 19, 13, and 16. Apart from this, there was a massive difference between the total rebounds as Carolina had a staggering 51 and LSU was stuck with 29.

After this sad loss, Kim Mulkey, Clark, and Kate Martin sat for the postgame interview. The coach gave an opening statement as she said, “Just want to congratulate South Carolina, that is a tremendous basketball team and coach Staley obviously. Congratulations to them.” She went on to talk about how proud she is of her team, “Finishing national runner-up in a row is an amazing feat and nobody thought we would be here,” she added.

Clark went on to talk about how every single person in our locker room believed that this year ended up being more special than last year.
Furthermore, the future WNBA player highlighted the changes that went on in the team to get to this point. The team lost two players who were three-year starters for the program. She said “Come out here and battle I mean, South Carolina is just so good like there’s only so much that you can do” and stated that Cardoso had 17 rebounds, and they had 51 as a team, whereas, Iowa had 29. “Hard to win a basketball game like that,” she added.

In 2020, Clark joined the University of Iowa and has taken the Iowa Hawkeyes to greater heights. Ever since her first college game, she has displayed extraordinary performances and posted impressive NCAA stats. In the last game of her college career, Clark recorded 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. After an 87-75 loss to the Gamecocks, she took to her Instagram to share a back picture of her jersey with one of her shoes to bid goodbye to her storied college career. She captioned the picture with, “I’ll miss ya,” and added yellow colored hearts.
