Klay Thompson is known for many things on the NBA court. He is one of the greatest 3&D players of all time, having an unrelenting spirit to win. Klay is also the owner of 4 championship rings. Something which he will never let any of his opponents forget.
During games, Klay is a fierce competitor who isn’t afraid of jawing with the best of them. The best attribute of his game is his uncanny ability to catch fire in clutch moments. Game six Klay is the stuff of legends along with his 37-point scoring outburst in one quarter in 2015.
Off the NBA floor, Thompson is known for being a laid-back personality. He prefers to hang out with his dog and best bud Rocco, rather than engage in human affairs. He’s also known to love boats and being on the water, whether that’s fishing or even diving. This laid-back attitude, however, sometimes leads to Klay entering deep space inside his mind. Teammates report that he is one to often space out during conversations and events.
Draymond Green shares a hilarious incident with Klay Thompson
Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have been teammates on the Golden State Warriors ever since 2012. Through 11 years the two have built a special bond, along with superstar guard Stephen Curry. The trio have been through thick and thin together. And with Dray’s recent extension, look to do the same for the foreseeable future.
“You always hear people say, ‘Man, [Klay Thompson] lives in his own world’… We were talking about the White House visit… 35-minute conversation, 10 minutes after he goes, ‘Y’all heard we going to the White House?'”

While on a podcast with Los Angeles Clippers superstar Paul George, the topic of Klay’s absent-mindedness came up. George states, “Klay’s my guy, we played AAU together, other than him being one of the greatest shooters he’s also a really fun guy, can we get a Klay being Klay moment that you can share?”
As has been the tradition since 1963, the team has been invited to the White House to celebrate their victories in all four instances. The Dubs’ reign has even spanned the tenure of three different presidents.
The first time they were scheduled to pay a visit, that is in 2015, the team was discussing their impending honor around a table. In Draymond Green’s words, “Klay like you always hear people say that dude lives in his own world, Klay really does, we all sit at this table together and were talking about the White House visit, what it’s gonna be like what’s going, thirty-five-minute conversation.”
Klay of course was a part of this conference but wasn’t present mentally. And ten minutes after their entire conversation, he says, “Hey guys yall heard we going the white house right?” Draymond and the rest of the team apparently glanced around at each other. It was almost as if they had just spent half an hour discussing the subject only for Thompson to bring it up like a fresh one.
