A recent post on social media has revealed the extent to which Stephen Curry has been keeping the Warriors afloat this season. As many fans should be aware, the 2023-2024 NBA season has commenced and the teams across the league have begun fighting for a spot in the NBA playoffs.
GSW has certainly gotten off to a decent start this season. At the moment, the Warriors hold a record of 6 wins and 4 losses, giving them the 5th seed in a competitive Western Conference. Although it looks like GSW has been playing well in order to hold this record, one could argue that Curry has singlehandedly put them in their current position.
Considering that basketball is a team sport, one should certainly wonder if Steph has been the only one helping his team win games. That said, let us take a closer look and find out more.
Stephen Curry’s electrifying start to the 2023-24 NBA season
When a player is over 35 years of age and entering their 15th year in the league, one might assume that they are on the decline and approaching the inevitable end of their NBA career. However, Curry’s incredible start to the season challenges these notions effortlessly.
Steph has put up several 40-point and 30-point games within the first stretch of the NBA season. As a result, he has already been included in the MVP conversation and will certainly be a favorite to win the award if he keeps up this level of play.
Curry’s greatest asset is his ability to shoot the basketball from a distance. Unlike other aspects of his game such as speed and explosive ability, his shooting is expected by many NBA experts to remain consistent towards the end of his career.
Although the Warriors’ franchise cornerstone has been playing at an elite level in order to help his team win, the same cannot be said about the rest of the members of the squad.
Warriors players have been lackluster 10 games into the NBA season
Fans were quick to point out that Steph’s teammates such as Chris Paul and Draymond Green have not been playing at a level close to his own. While Curry has been consistently averaging 30 points a game, not a single member of the Warriors has scored 20 points even once this season.

Upon taking a closer look, we can tell that Klay Thompson is the only player to have come close by scoring 19 points in a few games. However, noticing this gap in scoring between Steph and his teammates has made GSW fans call out their own players.
He needs help from others to step up.

Since we are only 10 games into the NBA season, there is plenty of time for the Warriors to share the burden of scoring with Stephen Curry. If the team is unable to find a way to do so, they will end up losing every time Steph does not have an excellent shooting night.
