Although Dinwiddie is yet to step on the court for his first game as a part of the Lakers, fake news reports have already emerged and indicate what Laker Nation expects from their latest addition.
LA Lakers fans expect Spencer Dinwiddie to have a breakout game in his debut
Fake news and troll accounts appear to be growing rapidly and gaining momentum in present times. After all, most NBA fans have social media accounts and follow news through platforms such as X or Instagram. This gives troll accounts a chance to push forth news under a veil of legitimacy and gain attention for themselves while misleading fans at the same time.
That is exactly what happened after reports emerged revealing that Dinwiddie had scored 31 points and 11 assists during his debut performance as a Los Angeles Laker. The report also claimed that he tallied 7 rebounds and 3 steals in the same game.

Taking into consideration the fact that Dinwiddie has yet to step on the court for the Lakers, this speaks to the high and almost unreasonable expectations that Lakers fans have for him.
Does adding Dinwiddie to the roster give the Lakers a big 3?
Throughout his NBA career so far, Spencer Dinwiddie has averaged 13.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists. Although he has scored more than 30 points several times in his career, it would be quite ridiculous to presume that he would be able to do so in his first game with a new team. Especially since LeBron James and Anthony Davis have the ball in their hands more than any other teammate Dinwiddie has played with.
Despite that, upon hearing that the Lakers signed Dinwiddie to a one-year contract, some fans went far enough to claim that the team finally has a big 3. This could be considered quite offensive to D’Angelo Russell, who has been playing at an elite level over the past several weeks.
