Kevin Durant is known as one of the greatest scorers the league has ever seen. His resume is quite incredible and his skill on the court can be unmatched at times. Many individuals struggle to break KD while they’re on the court. Interestingly, the legend also has quite the unbreakable persona on the internet. While people get entangled with him online and often get silenced, Durant just lost to one of his rival endorsers.
Anthony Edwards announced that he will be releasing his first signature pair before the end of this year. In an interview with Nice Kicks, Edwards revealed that he wanted KD to wear his shoes at least once. He recognized that the Phoenix Suns player was with Nike, but he simply wanted KD to try them out.
Durant responded on X saying, “Won’t EVER see me put a big toe in them Mfers.” Surprisingly, Adidas responded to him saying, “u dusty bouta retire soon anyway.” Adidas also added, “Meant to send that from the burner account.” Fans couldn’t handle the shade that was thrown by Adidas. One fan said, “Someone getting fired.” Another fan said, “Adidas is a struggling company right now they will say anything to get clicks.”

While most fans enjoyed watching Kevin Durant drown in embarrassment, some trolled Adidas. It is unusual to see big-name brands like Adidas respond in such a manner. Or it could’ve been a publicity stunt that ended hilariously.
Kevin Durant became the third NBA player to get a lifetime deal with Nike
While Anthony Edwards hopes to see Kevin Durant appreciate his Adidas shoes, the 13x All-Star may never fulfill his wishes. Durant has ridden with Nike since the start of his career, which also explains why he isn’t a fan of the rival company. Nike approached Durant when he was a rookie playing for the Seattle Supersonics, now known as the Oklahoma City Thunder. It has been 15 years since their partnership came to fruition.
The Suns forward has released 16 sneakers with Nike and is about to bring out more shortly. Durant signed a lifetime deal with Nike, becoming the third NBA player to do so. LeBron James and Michael Jordan are the other two NBA athletes with the same contract.
“When I first signed with Nike, I couldn’t have dreamed of how far we’d go in this partnership. We’ve done amazing work creatively and philanthropically. We’ve traveled the world together and built a business that will now last forever. I’m excited for the future and honored to be in rare company with this deal,” Durant said according to the Boardroom. Nike and Durant have worked together on various projects and this partnership is set to take on new heights.
