The Los Angeles Lakers have suffered for a long time and they are trying to make an attempt to get things back together. Initially, after pairing Anthony Davis with LeBron James, the power surge was almost instant and they ended up winning a title. But since then, injuries have affected the team terribly, which in turn soiled their legacy as an individual super team. Matters have only gone further out of hand since 2020.
AD started losing court time due to his carelessness on the court. While LeBron continued to average over 25 to 30 points per game, it was only a matter of time until injuries struck him as well. Last season, they missed the playoffs despite having one of the best rosters in the league. This past trade deadline, they shipped Russell Westbrook after a year and a half of not knowing how to utilize him. Thus, they were able to bring in good players like D’Angelo Russell and Thomas Bryant.

Now the Los Angeles Lakers are slowly pulling through with last-minute victories over a few good teams. AD also took charge of the captain-less ship and brought in a couple of great wins. Right now, they are the 7th seed in the Western Conference. Even though they have to go through the play-in tournament, the Lakers still have a good chance of making it through into the first round.
The Los Angeles Lakers sign two new players ahead of the postseason
The Los Angeles Lakers are still finding potential new ways of regaining their title contention. During the play-in tournament, they will most likely face the New Orleans Pelicans to hopefully solidify their 7th seed in the West. With LeBron out, the Lakers desperately need a few more pieces to patch around Davis and his compadres. Hence, they signed Tristan Thompson and Shaquille Harrison.
Now, fans aren’t very happy about these moves. The Los Angeles Lakers have received quite a lot of criticism since the signings took place. One fan said, “Neither are getting any minutes. It’s all about having players that they can use in trades in the offseason. Might as well be Clutch client Thompson. Harrison they might just want around next year.” The possibilities are endless and this fan might be true as well. However, here is what the others had to say.

Smh. What’s wrong with u guys. Ham has a hard enough time with the guys he currently has. Wow!! U can’t make this up. He barely plays Rui and Vando. HE PLAYS Reaves and SHRÖDER a lot. Lonnie Walker is disappeared. He didn’t bring in a pf, they brought in another pg.

These signings were because of open roster spots and the expiring contracts could be used for trades next year and both will be at the parade get rings

Tristan Thompson could be a good asset to the team defensively. Not to forget, he has played with Bron in the past and managed to win a title with him as well. Thompson was an integral part of the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers championship roster. He bounced around three teams last season and remained unsigned until now. Harrison is also a very good defensive player. He won the NBA G League defensive player of last year. This could work out for the better, for all we know.
