LeBron James had some bad news for Los Angeles Lakers fans following their recent game. Right now, LA has been delivering much more consistency on the floor which has also resulted in a few crucial victories. Things have not been smooth sailing in terms of injuries, especially with the 4x NBA Champion. He has been playing through an ankle ailment from the start of the season. If it does not heal before the end of the regular season, LA is trouble-bound in the playoffs.
James was diagnosed with left ankle peroneal tendinopathy in December. He missed a couple of games in between but still managed to appear as consistently as he could. However, before his 20th appearance at the All-Star Game, James revealed that he had a treatment plan laid out. He missed the return game against the Golden State Warriors. But he was made to start against the San Antonio Spurs last night.
LeBron James makes Lakers history despite troubling ankle injury
Following the game, LeBron James told sources that his treatment schedule was planned well in advance. However, he claimed that his injury hadn’t improved too much. Despite the setback, James had an outstanding game against the Spurs finishing with 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists on 13-22 shooting from the field. But knowing who LeBron truly is, this was yet another record-breaking performance.
LeBron said in the locker room postgame that his ankle treatment was planned well in advance. He said it was feeling “so-so” tonight.

He shot 2-3 attempts from beyond the three-point arc to solidify himself in Lakers history. James moved past Nick Van Exel with the third most three-pointers made in franchise history. LeBron ranks behind Derek Fisher and Kobe Bryant at the moment. Interestingly, James also ranks eighth on the all-time three-pointers list behind Klay Thompson.
LeBron James praised Victor Wembanyama following the Lakers vs. Spurs game
LeBron James and Victor Wembanyama met for the third time this season at the Crypto.com Arena. They were previously tied 1-1 ahead of their third matchup. LA managed to snag a victory this time to take the regular season series lead. While James had his moment on the floor, he took some time to appreciate the No.1 overall pick of the Spurs. Wembanyama has been making a strong case for the Rookie of the Year Award this season.
