Kevin Durant is undoubtedly one of the greatest players the NBA has ever had the opportunity to accommodate. Over the years, he has had an incredibly successful career playing for championship-caliber teams. He has always been the type of player to bring immediate success to a team just because of what he can do by scoring. Hence, he is dubbed as one of the greatest scorers the league has ever seen.
The 13x All-Star is currently playing for his fourth franchise since being drafted in 2007. Durant was traded to the Phoenix Suns from the Brooklyn Nets last season. Unfortunately, a superteam the Nets had created did not fall through due to interpersonal issues. But ever since joining the Suns, he hasn’t experienced the best level of success as yet. The Suns are still trying to prove themselves with their new look.
Kevin Durant last lost to the Knicks during the 2012-13 season
Phoenix hasn’t played all too well lately, especially since they’ve been dealing with several injuries. Devin Booker was in and out of the lineup for their initial set of games and Bradley Beal recently joined the team full-time. The Big 3 including Kevin Durant recently took on the New York Knicks. But things never went according to plan.

For the last couple of years, the Knicks have been a weak team that never found much success. Somehow, over the last year alone, they have been playing far better. This year, they have become far more competitive and stronger as well. Durant and the Suns lost to the Knicks and their second straight game. This loss marked the first time Durant has lost to the Knicks since the 2012-13 season when he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Kevin Durant praised Jalen Brunson for his outstanding 50-point game
One big reason why the Suns achieved another defeat was because they lost Beal during the first quarter of the game. The 3x All-Star played for only 5 minutes scoring 6 points along with 1 assist. But the Suns simply couldn’t get a hold of the Knicks. Jalen Brunson was on fire as he recorded a masterful 50-piece to help his team emerge victorious. He also recorded 6 rebounds and 9 assists as well.
The Knicks held the Suns fairly tightly on defense which limited Devin Booker and Kevin Durant to under 30 points each. Despite Jusuf Nurkic trying his best by recording 21 points and 12 rebounds, the Suns weren’t able to win without the rest of the supporting cast’s contributions. Durant complimented Brunson, saying, “Hall of Fame player if he keeps it up.” This game was one of Brunson’s biggest career nights ever.
