SUMMARY
- The Warriors have finished this season as the 10th seed in the West.
- Steve Kerr has faith in his team despite them facing two elimination games.
Despite this season not going as expected, Steve Kerr continues to show faith in Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. As most NBA fans should be aware, the Warriors have not done too well this season only barely managed to squeeze into the play-in tournament as the 10th seed in the Western Conference.
This indicates that their chances of making the actual postseason are quite low. After all, the odds are stacked against a team that heads into 2 elimination games on the road. While one would assume Kerr to be nervous or even doubt his own team, the Warriors coach appears to be feeling positive despite their current situation.
Steve Kerr claims that the Golden State Warriors made significant improvements towards the end of the season
The Warriors have been quite a contradicting team this season. The team dealt with multiple issues this season such as Chris Paul’s injuries, Klay Thompson’s shooting struggles, and Draymond Green’s questionable behavior and suspensions. Even Andrew Wiggins appeared to be going through
That undoubtedly played a huge role in the team’s slow start to the season. Moreover, even Steph had a few minor injuries and the team struggled greatly in his absence. Towards the second half of the season, the Warriors made changes to their roster such as bringing Thompson off the bench or giving Trayce Jackson-Davis more playing time. Kerr kept the success they found following those changes in mind while sharing his positivity.
“I think we still have a chance to do something special.”

“I’m really happy with the way it unfolded over the past couple of months. We were in a bit of disarray for a while early in the season trying to find ourselves. And a lot of guys stepped up not only on the court but off the court in the locker room. We have a really good connection in this team, and good chemistry…Guys pulling it for each other and putting in the work. So I’ve got a good feeling about what’s ahead I think we still have a chance to do something special…”
One should certainly admire Steve Kerr for maintaining an objective outlook and not tearing his players apart for their struggles this season. However, questions regarding the Golden State Warriors’ actual chances of making the postseason continue to be subjects of discussion.
Can the Warriors win 2 elimination games to make the playoffs?
There is no denying that the Golden State Warriors have a difficult path to make it to the playoffs. Even with Curry playing at an elite level, they will face the Sacramento Kings in their first elimination game and either the Pelicans or Lakers for their second must-win game. Since the team did beat the Lakers in their most recent matchup, it would be unfair to completely dismiss their chances of making the playoffs.
