It’s over ladies and gentlemen. History has not been made. The resurgent Boston Celtics have been crushed and put away In seven games. After fighting back and showing incredible spirit, their game seven turns out to be a damp squib. And who might you ask is responsible for this monumental collapse? Caleb Martin. The Miami Heat forward poured in 26 points with 10 rebounds to completely shut out the C’s in a 103-84 victory.

The Celtics are facing heavy criticism for their play in the closeout Game, especially in the second quarter where they gave up 30 points to allow the Heat to establish and maintain that lead for the rest of the game. Another piece of the puzzle that never clicked, was the fact that the Celtics’ star duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown weren’t able to cross the twenty-point threshold individually.
Whereas the not-star-caliber duo of Jimmy Butler and Caleb Martin put up 28 and 26 points respectively. Overall, the play of the Celtics tonight has the NBA world in flames as you can see below.
Charles Barkley blasts Boston Celtics’ lackluster performance in Game 7
Charles Barkley didn’t hold back on TNTs Inside the NBA. Looks like the gameplay of the Celtics tonight has gone so far as to give the legendary power forward a headache. He comments on the gung-ho attitude of the team saying “They, I mean, it’s so bad to watch them play, there’s no ball movement, there’s no body movement, and it’s just frustrating to watch a team with this much talent play so stupid.”
Chuck even went so far as to say the Celtics win games strictly based on talent and no other factor, saying that they don’t even run an offense and that’s what disappointed him the most. He said, “You know you can win a lot of games on just talent but when you’re against a zone they just settle for jumpers, there’s no ball body movement.”
The evidence behind this statement is that the Celtics had a total three-point field goal of 9 for 42, about 21.4%. Simply put, that is not the performance a franchise can afford to bring to the table. Especially not when it’s the game that decides whether you advance to the finals or not.

Ultimately Charles summed up the thoughts of every single Celtics fan watching the game with one sentence: “I gotta say, something man, watching these dumba** Celtics plays is making my head hurt.”
Who knows what the aftermath of this disaster may hold for the Boston-based team? Will we see the firing of Head Coach Joe Mazzula? It seemed probable considering that other head coaches have been fired for less, taking the example of Nick Nurse or Doc Rivers.
The Celtics’ have a generational talent along with a bonafide star on their hands, they just need to acquire an illuminary who possesses the grit and hustle needed for the postseason.
