SUMMARY
- Jaylen Brown and the Celtics defeated Steph Curry and the Warriors in their recent matchup.
- Brown opined that he felt disrespected by GSW's decision to not guard him at the three point line.
Jaylen Brown had quite a lot to say about Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors after their most recent matchup. As the majority of NBA fans should know by now, Brown is one of the franchise stars for the Celtics alongside Jayson Tatum and helped the team make it all the way to the 2022 NBA Finals.
There, his team ended up losing to the Warriors within 6 games. Although those events were in the past, a rivalry between both franchises was soon formed. In their recent regular season game, Brown and the Celtics demolished the Warriors with a final score of 140-88. They even held Steph Curry to scoring just 4 points and feeling a sense of demoralization at the hands of the Celtics.
Jaylen Brown takes a dig at Warriors after disrespectful strategy
Although there were several reasons that the Celtics were able to overwhelm the Warriors in this game, one of the biggest reasons was the fact that the GSW players made the decision to sag off Jaylen Brown and let him shoot the ball.
Since he was able to make several big three-pointers in the beginning, this played a pivotal role in the Celtics building an untouchable lead in the first quarter of the game. After the match had concluded, Brown opined that the GSW made the wrong decision in leaving him open and even went far enough to call that defensive scheme disrespectful towards his own abilities as a basketball star.

Jaylen shot an efficient 5 of 10 three-pointers in this game. Therefore, one could argue that the judgment of leaving him open was the wrong one. However, Brown did not stop there and continued to take additional shots at the Warriors.
Is the Boston Celtics’ path to an NBA championship clear this season?
Since the Golden State Warriors eliminated the Boston Celtics in Brown’s first-ever trip to the finals, fans can certainly understand why he felt motivated to celebrate his victory and make proud statements. Jaylen even went on to claim that it is now the Celtics’ time to shine, “It’s a lot of respect for the Golden State Warriors. But we feel like it’s our time now.”

Although his statement began with a backhanded compliment towards the Warriors, there is no denying that he was inadvertently taking a shot at them and opining that their chances of winning an NBA championship again are over.
Taking into consideration both teams’ current records and standings in their respective conferences, Brown’s claim that it is the Celtics’ time to win is certainly not baseless. The team holds the best record in the entire NBA. While it would be a stretch to claim that they have a clear path to win an NBA title this season, the fact remains that the Celtics are considered favorites to do so over any other championship contender.
